As I entered the tunnel, I remembered the first time when my brother and I first passed here.  The echoing sounds of birds and tiny drops of water were the only things we heard as we entered the tunnel.  There was only one way in and one way out.

Then, a strong gust of wind suddenly blew as I finally reached the end of the tunnel where I (in a way) saw paradise.  The place was still as fresh looking as before—the grass was still green; the wind was still fresh as if it was untouched and those ancient carved rocks were still standing at where they were as if I was just gone for an hour.

After looking at the refreshing view, I walked up the hill and surprisingly saw the empty town, the town which soon turns to life when the night comes.  And indeed, the night was coming.  The sun was slowly going down.

I continued to approach the empty town, finally walking on the sturdy stoned steps.  And at the same time as I reached those steps, the sun finally disappeared from the sky and everything behind me—as in 'everything'—turned to water.

As I was still standing on the top step, I slowly turned my head to see the water glitter beautifully as the lights of the spirit's boat sailed.  From that moment, I knew that I was finally there; I was finally in the spirit world.  I sensed it just through tasting the air.

I continued walking into the busy town where things were quite surprising—all the buildings were alive and busy; the stores and restaurants were open for business as spirits roamed around making their fill, and the exquisite Chinese lanterns above my head were gleaming like mystifying rays, making the whole place look so festive and joyful.

Most of the spirits in the town didn't look like humans—they looked like gas, grease; they appeared as frogs; large headed people; different kinds.  They didn't bother me by the slightest, but I did bother them.  My smell was too hard for them to identify.  They sense human yet they sense spirit.  They were completely confused.

"I smell human," one spirit that had a face of a lizard said as he sniffed through the air.

"No, it's not" another said.

They were indeed puzzled as they stared at me, but I just continued walking.

As I was about to reach Yubaba's bathhouse, a frog-looking spirit suddenly approached me.

"Hey you," he said as he approached me and began to sniff me which was quite impolite, "Who are you?  You sort of smell like human"

"That's because I just came from the human world, Froggy," I replied with an uncouth stare.

"Really?" The spirit sniffed again about to touch my chest which was one of the worst places that I didn't want anyone to touch.

"Don't you dare touch me!" I exclaimed as I swiftly took out my sword and pointed its blade right at the spirit's throat.

Everyone gasped.

"Don't mess with me," I said as I stared at the spirit dauntingly.

"Uh—uh—"the spirit looked at me frighteningly, "Who—who are you?  Please, don't kill me..."

"Don't worry," I said as I continued to point my blade at him, "I won't kill you.  My kill is for someone else."

Then I hid my sword again and continued to walk until...

"Hey!" three ugly-looking spirits that seem to appear like a gang blocked my way, wasting more of my time.

"Who told you that you can mess with our town, huh?" a spirit with a spiky hair-do said.
