Bliss
Oh my god I can’t believe Raven just turned into the panther. This is not happening, I mean these THINGS don’t exists. I run into our dorm room and Raven is right behind me, well panther Raven.
“What the hell are you and what the hell is this place” I whisper.
“Well I am a shifter and normally when we shift we shred our clothes so I don’t know what is going on and this place I have no idea. All I know it’s a school and my mom passed out when I got my letter and she said something about them finding us” she answers shrugging her shoulders.
I nod my head trying to process everything. My arm starts itching worse than before and I start rubbing it. I look up and see Raven doing the same to her birth mark.
“Itching” I ask
“Yeah” she says
I reach out my arm, the one with the birth mark, and she reaches her arm out too. As soon as our hands touch my arm burns. I hear screams and realize that they are coming from Raven and I. The pain gets so intense that I start seeing spots. Before I pass out I look at the door and see Raven’s dad, James, and the Headmaster Kosta, run into our room. I look at Raven and our eyes lock before we both of our eyes shut.
I slowly open my eyes and realize that I am in a different room laying on a couch. I sit up and groan and look down at my arm. My eyes widen as I see that now I have 6 marks instead of 1. Each line is a different color one fire red, one ocean blue, one grass green, one sky blue, one plum purple, and one that is half gold and half silver. I look up and realize I am not alone Raven is sitting up on a couch across from me and the people who we sat with at the beginning of dinner are sitting around the room as well. I look each of them over. The one introduced as Dimitri is sitting close to Raven, and he is 6’5 with espresso brown hair styled like he just woke up, and forest green with brown flakes. Heath has deep Ocean blue eyes that you could drown in, he looks to be about 6’3, and has bleach blonde shaggy hair like a surfer. Lilith, who is sitting in Heath’s lap, has dark coffee brown eyes with red flakes, is about 5’6, and has curly red hair. Sitting close to me is Skyller who has sky blue eyes, looks to be about 6’5, and has black hair Emo styled. I take a good look at Raven and she has grey eyes, shoulder length wavy black hair, and is 5’8. Grrr I’m so short. I am 5’2, I have dirty blonde hair that is straight and reaches my waist, and lavender eyes.
“What the hell happened” I ask getting up and walking over to sit next to Raven. I may not know her that well and maybe she can shift into a panther but I feel as if I can trust her.
“We have no idea. We were sitting around eating dinner when our arms started burning and we all passed out. Then we wake up and we are all in the same room” Heath says.
“Well how is it being roommates with your cousin” Lilith sneers.
I look at her like she is crazy and just before I can say anything Raven answers “we aren’t cousins.”
“Yes you are and I’m your cousin too”
“No you are not my cousin and neither is Raven”
“Look stop playing games you ungrateful”
“You are not my cousins because I have no family. My mother died when I was 3 and I have no father. I spent my entire life going from foster home to foster home” I yell jumping up. Raven stands up beside me and put her hand on my shoulder calming me somewhat.
“She’s right my mother is an only child and so is my father” Raven says.
“No my mom and both of your moms are sisters. And what did you say about your mom being dead” Lilith asks.
“Whose mother is dead” the Headmaster asks walking into the room followed by Raven’s dad and four other men.
“None of your business, I don’t even know why I’m here” I growl and sit back down.
“Daddy Lilith says we are cousins tell her it’s not true” Raven says to her dad.
“You are cousins Raven and Bliss is your cousin too” he replies looking a little guilty.
“So you mean to tell me you and mom lied about being an only child” Raven accuses.
“No I am an only child your mother had two sisters but we just lost touch” he says and I can see there is more to the story and so can Raven but she drops it at her father’s look.
“Bliss” the Headmaster says
“Yeah” I ask looking at him.
“What is your mother’s name?”
“Trinity”
His eyes widen and he smiles. “You look a lot like her but you have my eyes daughter. I am Raphael” he says still grinning like an idiot.
“So let me get this straight” I say getting angrier with each passing revelation. I stand up and clinch my fist and start shaking. “I have a mother who died when I was three, spent years going from one abusive foster home to another, get invited to go to a school with THINGS that don’t exist, find out I have two cousins, one who can shift into a panther and is my roommate, another who is a spoiled stuck up snob, and the Headmaster of my new school is claiming to be my father, grinning like an idiot thinking I’m gonna be happy I have a father, obviously you didn’t want me if you left me to suffer all these years” I finish shaking more than ever and feeling a pain in my back between my shoulder blades.
“I didn’t know about you and I didn’t know your mother was dead” Raphael says not smiling anymore.
“Bullshit because if you didn’t know about me I wouldn’t have gotten the invitation and I wouldn’t be here” I say still shaking.
“Bliss how did your mom die” another man asks.
“Murdered” was all I could manage to say before I ran across the room and jumped out the window. As I’m falling I hear them screaming. As the ground comes closer the pain in my shoulder blades burst and I see wings. Trusting my instincts I pull up just in time and take off into the sky. What the hell am I?
