*Annabeth's POV*

I stand in the vast field surrounded by fellow campers who are clad in armor and have swords in their tight grip. I jab my sword towards my opponent who has a scar running down his arm from the last fight he was in. He stands about a foot taller than I, a clear disadvantage on my part. The only disadvantage he has is that I never lose. Never. We pace in a small circle, occasionaly swinging our metal weapons at eachother. My boyfriend, Percy, stands a few feet away with triumph as he has defeated his last opponent. I feel him watching me.

"When are you going to give up" I taunt as I duck his bronze sword.

"Never." he inches closer to me.

Twirling around, I manage to avoid another strong swipe from him. Who is this kid? Probably from the ares cabin. I lunge forward and knick his shirt, causing the sleeve to tear open. He looks down at the newly cut shirt and I see the anger glow in his eyes.

"This shirt was a gift from my father!" he sneers.

I watch as he charges at me, his sword moving in fast quick swipes. I hear his sword whip past my ear, the wind tickeling as it glides by. The crowd of half bloods around me chant my name as I continue to dodge his best efforts, that is until his sword makes contact with my cheek. The fresh blood oozes down my chin as I slam against the dusty ground. A large gasp rings through the thick air. The bright sun beams down, blocking my vision which is blurry as it is.

"Annabeth!" I vaugly hear percy yell over the ringing in my ear.

I stand back up on my two feet, the world spinning around me. Wipping the dribbling blood from my chin I look around me. Once again I feel the cool metal of his sword make contact with my flesh. The bright blood starts to trickle down my arm. Blood is warmer than I thought it would be. I fall back to the ground, my hand sitting in a slimey mixture of blood and dirt from underneath me.

"Get up and fight! I thought you didn't lose? SO much for being a wise girl." my opponent spits on the ground.

"Back off her man! That is NO way to treat a girl!  You are killing her!" I hear footsteps stomping toward the person across me.

This is where everything goes black. I can't move, I can't talk. All I can hear is a loud ring.

I wake up in the infirmary laying down on a cot. A fan circulates the hot, sticky air around the room. Blinking my eyes a few times I can make out Percy sitting on the side of my bed wiping off the dried blood from off my cheek with a damp cloth.

"Percy" I croaked out.

"Shhhh." he smooths down my hair.

My mouth feels dry and I can barely see straight. My cheek stings everytime that he presses his fingers down, I wince away. He averts his eyes. Oh how I love those piercing seegreen eyes. He focuses his attention to my cheek, tilting my head to the side. I notice the person next to me wrapped in bandages, moaning softly out of pain.

"What happened to him?" I gulp.

"You did. Don't you remember? He said you weren't wise and then you beat the crap out of him. Man did he lose that fight." I look at him wide eyed, my cheeks glowing in embarassment.

"Oops." I shy away.

"He had it coming. If you hadn't beat him up, I was about to do it myself." He pats the top of my head.

I slowly sit up and he helps me off of the bed. Having weak knees I felt them buckle from under me as I clutch onto my boyfriend for help. I feel his cool hands slide under my knees, his other hand curling around my waist. I nuzzel into his chest, sheilding myself from the birght summer sun. The overwhelming smell of the sea keeps grown stronger as he carries me somewhere. Before I know it im sitting on a dock, the water splashing at my feet. The water felt cold, the same cold feeling as Percy's hands were.

"Annabeth give me your hand." Percy calls from in the water.

I jutt out my hand and he grabs mine delicatley. I feel the cool water trickel up my arm, the open wound closing, a warm feeling traveling through my body. The water tickels my cheek as it closes up the gash on my face. As the wound closes it feels as if he was giving me energy, a whole new fuzzy feeling inside.

"There, good as new." Percy smiles, standing in the water.

Looking at him in the water made me realize something, something that I never thought I would find myself saying. I love him. Not just that boyfriend and girlfriend love but a passionate love, like I could love him for an eternity, and that scares me.

The way the sun glints on the water and hits percy's eyes sends a shiver down my spine. His eyes peer up at me, his lips twisting into a devilish smile. That's the look that everyone talk's about, the one that get's him in trouble even when he's done nothing wrong. Before i know it im right along side him in the water. I feel the water soaking into my clothes, enveloping me.

"Perceus Jackson!" he cringes at the name.

"I love you Annabeth!" He ducks under the water.

His hands grab at my waist and pulls me under the water, pulling me closer and closer to him. I feel his lips peck mine. Once we surface I realize we have attracted a crowd, We share a look between us and it was as if I could read his mind. My fingers snake in between his and we both start to laugh as we look up at clarisse and grover and a few of the ares kids standing on the doc, watching in awe, almost a spark of jealousy in their eyes.

I could already tell that this summer was going to be one of the best yet.
