A Rocky Start

He flipped open the golden envelope all eyes were on him.
" And the award goes to.....

Wait wait wait. You cannot start a story there! Let's go back a little bit

"I swear it came out of nowhere he just got down on one knee"
"Wait, today"
"Yesterday in front of all of his friends"
"What!"
"Yup he just said 'Hey will you mary me'

No no no no! Back a little further

"Here I brought this"
"I don't wanna read your diary"
"Uh it's not my diary"
"I don't care what your first time felt like"
"It's not my diary! It's a notebook I write thoughts down in"
"That's a fucking diary"
"No it's not"
"I don't want to read the word ponies over and over and over"
"I write thoughts for jokes"

No! Okay, you know what let's just start from the beginning.......

Virgo P.O.V

"So let me get this straight Miss Vincent"
Mr. Vaughn Duffel paused, "you're writing a movie that is based off of a book, written by a woman?"
"Yes sir, yes I am" I responded
" I-i don't know what to say Miss Vincent."
"Look sir, all I am asking is for you to take a look at my drafts and" I started pulling some papers out of my brief case, "I was thinking, what if the movie was completely made by women." If Mr Vaughn Duffel had a drink he would have spit it out.
"I-I'm sorry?" he stammered.
"Is there a problem with that sir?"
"We'll Miss Vincent, we already need to change your name in the credits, after all no one would watch the movie if they knew a woman wrote it." He stated emphasizing the word 'woman'.
"Excuse me?" They were going to change my name just because I was a woman? How was that fair. I did all the work so shouldn't I get the credit?
"Look Miss Vincent, I'm not going to beat around the bush" he sighed "if people new this movie was written by a woman it would never succeed. Hell, it might not even make it to the big screen"
"But sir if you would just consid-" I started as he led me out of his office.
"Look girly" he cut me off "you won't succeed in this business. You have the looks to be a model or an actress, but never a screen writer. It's a mans job, and that's all there is to it." with that he slammed the door in my face.

Sorry that this chapter was so short :( However the rest of the chapters in this book will be longer, so :)
