"Speak!" Bell said as she pushed the man forcefully on the brick wall of an alley.
Bianca was just standing behind Bell watching as Bell tried to get information from the man that they found out to be the last man that Torin Wald talked to before he was gone.
Bell and Bianca were both wearing a black baseball cap and black face mask to hide part of their faces.
"Damn it, woman! I was telling you the truth! I don't know where he is!" The man said. He was furious that a woman three times smaller than him is threatening and intimidating him and wary at the same time because that woman is ten times stronger than him.
And she is no doubt successfully intimidating and threatening him.
Torin Wald lived in the country's most dangerous city. The city's violent crime rate fluctuates every year. Gang-related violence such as murder, rape, robbery, and assault are very common.
It is not a safe place for girls like Bell and Bianca to roam around.
But definitely the place for a violent girl like Bell to unleash the beast inside of hers.
When they arrived in the city, they immediately went to Torin Wald's apartment but found it empty.
They decided to ask his neighbors. Some of them were welcoming but most of the time a door was slammed on their faces.
The innocent Bianca who had never been out in this kind of place was unsure what made the people there treat them that way. Were they afraid of them or are they being cautious because they were involved in a crime?
But Bell knows better than Bianca. Her years of experience as a bounty hunter taught her a lot of things that neither the school nor her Uncle Lorcan taught her.
The people in this kind of city that is struggling with crimes were living in fear. Fear for their own lives. Bell knows that some of them have one or two relatives or family members that are affiliated with gangs or a criminal themselves.
These people have seen different crimes before their eyes.
Yet they choose to remain quiet instead of reporting to the police.
Because they are afraid that these gangs will come back at them or their loved ones.
Torin Wald who established and operates his gang is popular in the place. So, Bell was sure that those people that they have talked to said that they didn't know or haven't seen Torin was lying.
But there is one person, an old woman, who Bell and Bianca were able to get information from. The old woman said that Torin hasn't been there for weeks now. And the last time that she saw Torin, he was talking to one of the gang members in the city.
The day after that, Torin left with some of his gang members.
They asked the woman who is the man that Torin was last seen talking to, the old woman just shook her head. She said that she didn't know the man's name but he has a tattoo of a scythe on his forehead.
The next day, Bianca and Bell return to the city to search for the man with a scythe tattoo until they finally find him and drag him into a secluded alley.
Bell shakes her head. "I am getting impatient." As if she was ever patient. As she raises her hand to punch the man on his stomach, she hears Bianca speak.
"Uhm... He could be telling the truth." Bianca said timidly. They have come to a decision not to mention their names while on a hunt.
Bell glanced at her shoulder to see Bianca standing three feet from her with her hands intertwined in front of her.
