3rd POV

It was a cold snowy morning, on a small mountain, as a young boy prepared a basket full of charcoal. He stood at 5'8, had a muscular build, longish, wavy, black hair, pale skin, and semi-dark pink irises. He wore a  simple tan colored tunic shirt, brown trousers, a pair of straw boots, and a pink, triangle patterned haori. He picked up his basket, strapped his axe to his hip, before walking towards a small house.

"Ka-chan, I'm heading to town" he shouted from outside.

The door slid open, and out walked Kie Kamado with a small toddler in her arms, and two children flanking her sides.

"You don't have to go today, you know. You could just wait until your sister is better, and go with her." She reasoned.

"You know I can't, we're running low on supplies, and Nee-chan needs medicine." He said.

"Please be safe, my child" she sighed.

Before he could reply, there was a crash from the inside, followed by a shout, and arguing.

"Nee-chan! Your sick, so lay down!" Shouted a young boy.

"It's alright, otouto. I can still walk, meaning I can still work." Complained a young woman.

"This is why you'll never find a husband! You're too hard headed! Lay down already!"

As the arguing continued, a young woman stumbled out the door. She stood at 5'0, and had tan skin, warm, crimson eyes, and long redish black hair, tied in a messy bun. She wore a light grey yukata, with a blue obi, a green and black checkered haori, fur boots, and a pair of hanafuda earrings.

"Nezuo-kun, wait for me! I can still he-"

A flick to the forehead, cuts her off.

"Nee-chan, rest now. I can handle this" he said, with a dangerous look in his eye.

"H-hai" she said, sounding defeated, as he placed a hand on her head.

"I'll be fine. Just make sure Takeo does his job"

"Alright, but you better comeback safe and sound, or I'll rip you to shreds" she said, pouting.

With a laugh, Nezuo started to make his way down the mountain, waving to his family with a smile across his face.

I'll be back soon' he thought, happily.

But whenever happiness is destroyed, there's always the smell of blood...

After a day filled with hard work, Nezuo started to make his way back up the mountain. As he approached the base, a voice called out to him.

"Kamado, Nezuo! Stop right there!" Shouted the voice.

He turned to find an old man, shouting from his house.

"Child, do not go up the mountain tonight! There's demons about!" He shouted.

"Don't worry jiji, I should be fine. I need to get home." Replied the boy

"Spend the night here, it's not safe to climb the mountain at night. I'll put up with you for now."

With a shrug, the boy approached the hut, and stepped inside.

The two sat down, eating dinner, and exchanging a few words.

"So what are these demons, you were talking about, Ji-san?" Asked the boy.

"Demons are blood thirsty creatures, that resemble humans, with a taste for flesh." Explained the man.

"Is there anyway to stop them?"

"Yes, my child. They are hunted by the demon slayer corps. Now get some rest, you have quite the journey tomorrow"

"Hey Jiji, would a locked door stop them?" Asked the boy, as he laid down.

"No my child, they have ungodly strength, and will break in and devour the family inside." He said, sadness washing over his features.

'Poor old man. Must be lonely, ever since his family died. I'll bring the brats here to visit him in the spring...' Thought the boy to himself, as he loss consciousness.

The boy set out early the next morning, up the mountain side, and through the forest. As he continued to press forward, he came across foot prints, and puddles of blood. Without a second thought, he dropped his basket and ran.

When he arrived, what he found stopped him in his tracks. His home, once full of life, was now cold, and dead. He slowly approached the home, only to find his beloved, older sister, and youngest brother, passed out in the snow.

"Tanjino! Rokuta!" He shouted, as he knelt down by their side.

His eyes drifted up, and only to find the rest of his family, dead.

"Shigeru, Hanako, Takeo, Kaa-san..." He said softly, as his family's dead eyes stared at him.

He sat there, as a fire started to burn in his heart. He looked around, only to find a scrap of white cloth surrounded by blood.

He picked it up, and vowed to take revenge. Who ever was responsible, will die by his hands.

The sound of coughing, shook him from his thoughts. He turned his attention to where the sound was coming from, to find his older sister shifting slightly. Without hesitation, he scooped her up, threw her over his shoulder, and ran for the village.

'Nee-chan, hold on. We're almost there.' He thought as he ran.

As he ran by a cliff, the girl started to shift fitfully on his back, knocking him slightly off balance. When suddenly, the snow gave way beneath his feet, sending them both, over the edge.

Nezuo's POV

I woke up to someone running their fingers through my hair, and when I opened my eyes, there was Nee-chan, with a smile across her face, my head, resting in her lap. I would of thought that it was all a dream, had it not been for some of the strange features that she had. Her hair had came loose, spilling across her back in a ponytail. He pupils were slitted like a cat's, and fangs stuck out from lips. She continued to play with my hair, while I sat there, trying to understand what had happened. I stared at her, as she smiled, when something had caught my eye. A flash of metal, behind her. I sprang forward, tackling her as a sword flew over head.

There, standing in front of us was a man wielding a katana. I pushed Nee-chan behind me, brandishing my axe. I was ready to light this fucker up.

Yo, thanks for reading. There's somethings that were not like the story. For one, Tanjino didn't attack Nezuo. I wanted to have her keep most of her humanity, and all of her kindness. Nezuo won't take shit from no one. I hope you liked it. Don't forget to leave a comment, and vote if want. That shit usually motivates me to update more. Anyways
