A Hand to Hold
A storm is nearing the Seijou district in the northeast. For your own safety, stay in your home. More details can be accessed at —
I walked into the kitchen after turning off the old dusty radio. Outside, I heard the rustling of leaves and raindrops that sounded like gunshots. In the teapot, I placed two glasses of water to boil.
I'm a little frightened. The room was dimly lit. The storm became more intense as the minutes passed.
I peeked out the window; it was hazy, but I could tell someone was unconscious on the ground.
"Someone needs help." I said.
I dashed over to the person who was unconscious on the ground. It was a brown-haired boy about my age. I drew him close and guided him to the mansion. Although he was heavy, I was capable of carrying him safely.
I sat him down on the old couch. When I looked at him closely, I noticed that his long eyelashes were thick and dark, giving his closed eyes a dramatic beauty. I gently tapped his cheeks.
"Wake up." I quietly stated. His skin was pale due to the cold.
"Hey, wake up."I give him a gentle shoulder shake.
His brown eyes were fascinating with an insivible effect as he gently opened them. I was mesmerized by his alluring eyes, but also confused. I gave him a quick smile. He shifted his gaze in the opposite direction.
"Are you okay?" When he was ready to get up, he abruptly held his forehead, making him appear unsightly. He sat down once more.
"My head hurts." He said.
"Where am I?" He wondered. His brow wrinkled as he scanned the surroundings.
"Sa Northeast Seijuo District." I said, then I explained to him about a while ago when he looked at me puzzled.
"I'm Kyouske Latte Evergreen. Please wait for me here, I'll bring some clothes and medication." I said, and he leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.
"I'm Senki Yukishino." He said before I left him.
I'm on the second floor of the mansion. I went into my brother's closet and took some things. I went to my room to get the treatments.
"Drink this medicine, and here are some clothes from my brother." I gave him the medicine.
He hesitantly nodded as I showed him the instructions to the bathroom.
"Ang tubig pala!" I exclaimed. When I realized I had forgotten the water. I dashed into the kitchen. I grabbed the hot water right away, almost forgetting about it. He sipped it slowly while holding the white mug with both hands.
"Do you need blanket?" I inquired. Instead of responding to my question, his gaze scanned the entire area before returning to me.
"
Mahina kog tumawa. "At marunong ka palang magtagalog." Dagdag ko.
"Yes, I'm Japanese but I lived in the Philippines." sabi niya at tinabi ang mug sa wooden table.
"Taga saan ka?" tanong ko pero hindi niya ako pinansin.
"Kailangan mong magbihis." seryoso niyang sabi habang nakatingin sa akin.
Ang mga magagandang mata niya ay halos ng matakpan sa mataas niyang buhok sa harap.
I smiled. I got up and walked inside my room. When I returned, I noticed him sleeping comfortably on the sofa and slwoly placed a warm blanket over him.
He must be exhausted. What place did he come from? He's probably gone missing. The Seijou district is located outside of the city. Seijou district is a mountainous location, however it is home to some people.
The lights had returned to normal, but the storm was still raging like a mad man. I go to bed after dinner.
I had gotten up really early. Breakfast had been prepared. I was on the lookout for Senki.
Where did he go?
"Senki! Where are you?" I went outdoors and found him near a tree. He was looking the Seijou district town. Lumapit ako sa kanya.
"Breakfast is ready." I stated. His expression was solemn. I assume he's deep in thought, so I look at him, but he's looking away.
"I'm not familiar with this place. I was lost." He seriously said.
"Was there anyone with you before you got lost?" I inquired about him.
"None. I was traveling by myself."
"You're able to travel by yourself? Wow!" I was surprised as I turned to him. He travels by himself.
"I was a resident of Hoshi City." Hoshi City? Where is that place? It's the first time I've heard of it. I've never visited a city before.
"Do you have any family contacts?" I inquired. He smiled and nodded.
"That's good! Pagkatapos nating kumain baba tayo sa bayan. They had telephone station." magiliw kong saad.
"Don't you have telephone or phone?"
"None." He looked at me confused but then he nodded.
I was busy picking the dry leaves at nakita ko siyang paparating dito. He looked at the daisies, the flowers were dancing by the cold air.
"Sinong kasama mo dito?" He asked.
"Si Kuya, pero hanggang ngayon hindi parin siya bumabalik. It's been 3 years." sabi ko.
"Nasaan siya ngayon?" Tanong niya.
"He said pupunta siya ng Moshikon City para magtrabaho pero hindi siya bumalik. I think he forget about me." I awkwardly chuckled.
"Until now, I'm still hoping that he'll comeback and get me." I said seriously.
He looked at me seriously. "Where are your parents?"
"I'm not sure. I never had the opportunity to meet them. My brother was the only person I knew. My grandparents owned the mansion, according to my brother, so I'm free to live here even though I don't know their real names."
I focused my eyes to the birds flying around freely in the skies. "Before my brother was born, the mansion's documents and photographs were burned."
"Paano niyo nalaman ang mga pangalan niyo?"
"About our names? Gawa-gawa lang ni Kuya." I burst out laughing.
"You still managed to laugh despite the fact that you are unaware of your own existence." He stated solemnly and that made me stop laughing.
"Kuya Kyouskun attempted to discover about our family's history by enquiring about the mansion, but he was unable to do so because the mansion was abandoned. Lumaki kami dito ng walang alam sa totoo naming buhay."
Tumingin ako sa kanya at ngumiti. "Tara, baba na tayo sa bayan para makauwi ka na." hinila ko siya at hindi naman siya umangal.
"How about you?"
"I promised my brother that I would remain here till he returned. My brother has also made a pledge to me. Don't worry, sanay naman akong mapag-isa kung sakaling hindi na siya makabalik dito pero umaasa parin ako na babalikan niya ako." mahinhin kong tawa.
I saw his genuine eyes worried. I smiled to assure him that I'm fine.
