As Jihoon arrives at school with short breaths, Soorin crosses her arm, seeing her best friend catching his breath. She walks over to him, smacking the top of his head lightly. "Did you seriously forget that we have school today?"

"Well, I'm sorry for being a forgetful person?" Jihoon says, rubbing the spot where Soorin had just hit him. "I completely forgot that today was Monday! I thought today was Sunday." Soorin rolls her eyes.

"Be grateful that I'm your best friend and that I am at least decent enough to remind you that we have school," Soorin says, making Jihoon smile sheepishly at her. "You were almost late to homeroom."

"I know, Rin! You don't have to remind me of that!" Jihoon childishly whines, making Soorin suppress a smile from forming on her face. She didn't say another word before dragging Jihoon to their classroom. "Oi- you didn't have to drag me!"

"Your other friends are waiting for you," Soorin says, pointing to the group of boys huddled in one corner of the room. "Plus, homeroom is going to start in like five minutes. Use it to talk to your other friends."

Soorin was just about to leave before Jihoon grabbed the hem of her shirt. "I don't wanna talk to anyone else!" He whines. "I just want to talk to you!"

"Oh, don't be like that," Soorin says, pulling her shirt away from Jihoon's hold slowly. "We're in the same class until the end of the day. You'll end up sticking next to me anyway."

Jihoon pouts but goes to his group of friends, Soorin walking to her group of friends.

"Hey, Jihoon," one of the guys said, making Jihoon hum. "Have you told her yet?"

Jihoon blushes lightly. "N-No, why? I already told you that I don't think she feels the same way! Plus, I don't want to break our friendship, you know? Being friends with her already makes me happy, and if confessing my feelings to her ruins it, then I don't want it."

"Man, you're too soft and pure," another guy said. "Honestly, I feel so sad for you. If you are so sure that she's going to reject you in the future, then why are you always so close to her?"

"I told you, didn't I? She's my best friend," Jihoon spoke softly, looking at Soorin. "Even if she will reject me when I confess to her, I still want to be friends with her." His friends all sighed, giving him encouraging pats on his back, and Soorin could only wonder why they all looked so sad.

When school ended, Jihoon immediately skips over to Soorin's side, grabbing her by her arm. "Hi, Rin!" The smile that Jihoon gave to Soorin made her smile back at him (I mean, who can resist?). "We can go home together, right?"

Soorin nods her head, making Jihoon do a silent cheer. They never really talked on the way back home, because Jihoon knows that Soorin feels tired after school, so she takes the time walking back home to just relax with the wind blowing softly against her face. Jihoon treasures these moments, because Soorin looks so beautiful and mesmerizing in these moments (not like she's not beautiful every day, but you know what I mean).

The fifteen-minute walk back home went by quicker than Jihoon had expected, and it was finally time to say goodbye to Soorin, seeing her close the door behind her before Jihoon walked away.

When she arrives home, she immediately places a hand over her heart, trying to calm it down. Her mom spots her, and she smiles teasingly. "Were you walking home with Jihoon again, dear?"

Soorin nods, letting out a chuckle. "These feelings should go away soon though, mom. I don't feel like Jihoon feels the same way as me."

"Well, you never know, Soo. Life is unexpected, and we can't predict what will happen in the future," Mrs. Lee says. "Now, help me with dinner before your father gets home. You know how much he likes to arrive at home with us two waiting for him on the dining table."

Soorin nods, immediately taking off her shoes, placing her bag on the sofa, quickly helping her mom with dinner.
