Soorin lets out a small chuckle as she closes her phone and stares out the window. She sees the trees moving past her as the car keeps moving.
"What are you smiling about, hun?" Soorin's mom asks.
"Oh, it was Jihoon," Soorin replies. "He said that he missed me and that he wanted to see me again."
"Aww, that's so cute!" Her mom cooed, pinching Soorin's cheek playfully, keeping her eyes on the road. "You two remind me of me and your dad when we were still in high school. Oh, it reminds me-! Why haven't you told Jihoon that you liked him?"
Soorin chokes on her chips. "W-What?! Mom, how did you know?!"
"Oh, honey! I have known you for a long time already! Now tell me, when are you going to confess to him?" Mrs. Lee asks. "Keeping these feelings to yourself isn't going to do you no good, you know? You never know unless you try."
"But mom~" Soorin whines like a little child. "It's so hard! What happens if he doesn't feel the same way? It's going to be so awkward between us and I don't want that! Being so distant from Jihoon is the last thing I want. I could never see a future without Jihoon."
"Honey," Mrs. Lee stops at the red light and faces Soorin. "Do you see the way Jihoon looks at you? Honey, if looks could physically touch you, hearts would probably be sticking on you."
"Mom, how would you know? You could never know how Jihoon feels," Soorin spoke, and the green light turned on, making her mom face the road again and drive. "He could be acting like this because we've been friends for so long. He could be in love with another girl, mom!"
"Well, believe what you want to believe. After lunch, I'm dropping you off at Jihoon's house." Mrs. Lee says and Soorin nods.

As soon as Soorin and her mom finished their lunch date, her mom suddenly said that she has to meet someone else in the same place, so Soorin had to walk to Jihoon's house, but it was not like she minded at all.
After all, Soorin loves walking around Jihoon's neighborhood. She wasn't going to admit that to Jihoon or else he'll keep asking her to come over every chance he gets. The vibe from the neighborhood Jihoon lives in was peaceful, unlike her neighborhood. There were always kids screaming outside or people yelling at one another.
She did talk to her mom about it, but they could never have the time to move out. Plus, the house they currently lived in held a lot of good memories. Memories of Soorin's dad.
Soorin quickly shook her head to get the sad memories of her dad out of her head, not wanting to feel melancholy. As she keeps walking, someone grabs her wrist and pulls her into a corner, covering her mouth with their arm slings around her shoulder. Like any sane person, she shrieks and tries to get out of the person's grip, but they were strong.
"L-Let me go!" Soorin thrashed around.
"Calm down! It's just me!" Jihoon's voice rang through Soorin's ears, and she stopped, her heart still beating like crazy. "Stay still and be quiet, or else they'll find me!"
She complied, staying silent even if her heart was pounding in her chest. As soon as Jihoon loosens his grip on her, she pushes Jihoon away from her. "What the hell?! Why did you do that?! Do you kn-know how terrifying that was?!"
Jihoon smiles sheepishly. "S-Sorry, Rin. Someone's kid just started chasing after me because he wanted to show me a creepy looking bug he had. That kid clearly didn't understand the sentence 'get it away from me!'"
Soorin stares at Jihoon for a good ten seconds before she bursts out laughing. Jihoon's eyes widened and covered Soorin's mouth so that the little kid he encountered before doesn't hear anything. "Be quiet! I don't want the kid to know we're here!" Jihoon pulls Soorin closer, his face leaning in closer with a glare in his eyes.
The thing that made Soorin stop laughing was the distance that was between them. If Jihoon's hand wasn't there, they could feel each other's breath. Jihoon immediately pulls away with a blush on his cheeks, his eyes darting everywhere except for Soorin's face.
The same goes for Soorin, except she was frozen in place, her cheeks red. She quickly clears her throat. "S-So! Why did you ask me to come over?"
"O-Oh," Jihoon mumbled. "I-I just missed you, that's all. What's wrong with me missing you?" Jihoon huffed as he said that. "I thought your mom was supposed to drop you off? Where is she?"
"Oh, she had someone else to meet up with. I'm sure it was about work," Soorin says, and she stands up, brushing the dirt and dust off of her clothes. "Should we head back to your house? I don't think we should stay here for a long time."
"Oh, right," Jihoon says and stands up.
