I didn't pay attention to any of the conversations after the ice cream one. We just got to class. Aizawa was, well, himself. He seemed sleep-deprived, like he usually is, and generally sounded like he didn't wanna be there. We didn't do much in homeroom, we were just reminded by Deku and Iida that tomorrow we'd be reviewing for the math test on Friday, that's about the only thing that was noteworthy this morning. I already reviewed what I needed to so I should be able to do extra work in class. I get to train extra today, I think I'll probably spend some time working on my endurance. My usual strength is pretty good, though I think I can improve the length at which I can use my quirk, and also my duration of mobility. That's probably a good enough plan. I'd usually have a better idea of what I want to do, though I guess I let time slip a bit too much.
After homeroom, we had English class. Present Mic dropped it on us that we would be starting a group project. Why do we have to do a group project for a god damn book report? He put us into groups of four and we weren't allowed to choose who we were with. Fuckin hell. He put me with Iida, Uraraka, and the gross one. I'm not sure if I outwardly show it more than I do for others, but I hate that bastard the most. We clearly weren't put into groups by grades or scores. I know for a fact I'm smarter than that perv. We had to read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, I'm concerned that it may be a bit difficult for the rest of my group though. It's a bit of a longer book and I don't need any of them asking me for help in English. We would have to read the book, write a two page report on it, and then make a poster together and present it. Not too difficult of a project really, I could probably get it done in a reasonable time. I'm not sure how well they work on projects, I haven't had to work with anyone in this group before besides Iida. I already know he's efficient though. I'm pretty sure Mineta will just shove the work onto the rest of us and try to touch Ochako. I want to murder that kid, he's the scum of the earth and doesn't even know how to handle himself. Sometimes I remember how he got in the hero course and Shinsou didn't. God damn. Uraraka's annoying as ever, she'll probably at least cooperate though.
The book will probably take me about two days to finish if I focus. My mental translation can only go so fast. Most of the class was just going over the project criteria and meeting with our group to set up. We agreed to have the book done within the next few days so that we can start working on the poster in class and write our essays on our own time. I'll likely be able to finish my paper an hour after I finish the book. It ordinarily wouldn't take me that long since it's only two pages, though accounting for how exhausted I'll be, an hour seems good enough. I'll probably be able to knock out a chapter or so tonight after training. There's about 33 chapters in the book and supposing each takes me half an hour, that's about 16 hours. That's if I take no breaks, don't mess up any translation, and put my complete focus into reading though. Realistically, 18-19 hours will probably be more accurate. Yeah, two days seems good.
As I go to my next class, I start wondering if other schools teach the same thing. I don't remember having to read many books in English when I was in junior high. I know I did, though I think it was a small amount and they were a moderate level. Now that I think about it though, most of the class must be proficient enough to read a book like this. I expect only a few to be, but the school is pretty good and they must have passed the test well enough to be put in. English is more used as a decoration for things here, people don't actually speak it, though they can read it at least somewhat. I took out some time for extra practice when I was in grade nine and have been since then. I practice during the summer, and I've gotten to where I could probably hold a conversation. Japan has a lot of tourists, if I wanna be a hero, then I should probably know the most spoken language in the world. I expect Deku, Iida and maybe Momo or Uraraka to also be proficient enough to at least get through the book.
Nothing happened in any other classes, just a lot of me wanting to listen to music and work on other things or something. I haven't always been a very big music person. Sometimes I hear my mom listening to people like Acid Android, Exist Trace, The GazettE, Luna Sea, Porno Graffitti, and Sex Machineguns. Eventually I just sorta picked that up and went with it. I learned how to play the drums as well when I was younger. My father and mother were both the ones to encourage that. I'm not too big on my mothers music anymore though. I still listen to it occasionally, but I've found myself listening to English music. I heard a bit of a song by Fall Out Boy in some Disney movie I don't remember. I liked how it sounded.
