Midoriya woke up slowly, only to find that he was surrounded in darkness. Had he actually woken up? It was hard for him to tell... He couldn't see or feel anything, nor could he hear or smell anything. He couldn't even feel his own body, it was as if he simply didn't exist. He didn't like the feeling at all.
He called out, "Hello?" without any response. He had to wonder if he had even said it in the first place.
A few moments later, he heard someone say, "His files are activated!!" The voice sounded as if it had come from some sort of microphone. It was strange, to say the least. And, what did that mean? Midoriya wasn't a robot, last time he checked, so who's files were being activated?
The voice called out, "He's asking for access to the computer's camera, should I open it?"
Seconds later, Midoriya's vision came back as if it had been turned on. Observing his surroundings, he found that he was in a strange labratory, with the skeleton of a robot being built in the background. Directly in front of him was a person with mid-length, wavy, light purple hair tied back in a half ponytail. They had narrow, almond shaped eyes, golden in color. A set of goggles was straped to their forehead, and they wore a lab coat.
It still didn't feel quite right to him, though. He felt as if he weren't actually there, as if he were watching the scene from some sort of screen or window.
"Hello? Can you see me?" They asked, startling Midoriya out of his thoughts. They must've been the one saying that someone's files had activated...
Midoriya tried to nod, only to find that he couldn't, as he didn't seem to have... any sort of physical form. "Hi..." He mumbled experimentally, hearing a semi-digital version of his voice. "Y-yeah, I c-can see you...." he continued, seeing that his voice seemed to be working.
They smiled, "It seems like everythings in working order, then. My name is Dr. Shuruijoshu. I'm going to be working with you until the procedure is done, alright Midoriya?"
"Wh-what procedure? H-how d-do you kn-know my n-name?" He questioned, and they smiled, shaking their head slightly. "Well, I know your name because you had to be registered into the hospital with it. As for the procedure, you are going to have your mind transfered into a robotic body."
That explained some of it, he supposed. "Why...?" He asked, barely more than a whisper. They were able to hear him, though, as they frowned and said, "You must not remember what happened... There was a villain attack, and your body was badly damaged... there was a large chance that you wouldn't make it, so your mother asked us to undergo the procedure."
Midoriya was... surprised, to say the least. This definitely wasn't what he was expecting, although he wasn't sure if he had actually been expecting anything.
And so, at the age of 13, his life had ended up changing completely.
A/N
Hi! You might recognize the name of this fic as a previous fic I had. I didn't like the way the story was going, so I decided to rewrite it. Dr. Shuruijoshu won't be coming up again.
