DIRTY SECRETS OF MARRIAGE

Chapter : 3

Sarawat, holding Tine's hand, came downstairs and stood in front of everyone. Sia saw them first and elbowed Lisa to look over. Trio turned to them and wondered what was going on.

Sia took the initiative to ask first, her heart thumping in nervousness.

"What… happened? Why are you both looking so serious likewise?”

Lisa, Sarawat's mother looked at Tine who was looking downwards and worriedly asked.

"Yeah, what happened? Tine, is everything all right?" 

Tine faked a smile as per Sarawat's order and tried to say calmly but nervousness took over him and he started stuttering,

"(with a fake smile) Y-yeah Mom! A-actually...er..I...I w-want to...to say that...I-" 

Sarawat who was furious inwardly upon listening to Tine's stuttering voice, cut him off in the middle of his sentence, and stated with a little blushing smile,

"He wanted to say that he is ready for marriage, Mom."

"(Gasping) Huh?! Really?! Oh, my good Lord! What a wonderful news!"

Everyone was shocked at Wat’s statement and looked at Tine for confirmation, upon which he timidly nodded. They smiled gleefully when suddenly Sarawat completed his sentence saying,

"You know what, the one who made him agree to this marriage is none other than me, his young and handsome fiancé, the Great Sarawat!"

He jokingly said while pointing to himself with pride. Everyone laughed at his silly antics, meanwhile Tine just gave a disheartened smile. 

With an emotional face, Sia stood up hastily and hugged Tine in her embrace which was reciprocated by Tine. Lisa too hugged him while saying lovingly,

"My dear, You don't even know how much your affirmation meant to us! Thank you for becoming a part of our family!"

"I-It's my pleasure Mom that I will be able to get your love forever and an opportunity to take care of you as well." 

Tine, who was just acting at that time, was feeling more guilty for deceiving them. He wanted to tell the truth to both families, about his agreement, his relationship with Sarawat, & the future of this marriage, but couldn't or else Sarawat will surely skin him alive.

Tine hugged her back and smiled at Sarawat's Dad who welcomed him warmly with pure love and affection. Everyone settled down and ordered the couple to sit which they complied.

Sia signaled a maid which came forward with a tray full of Thai sweets and delicious desserts. After placing the dishes on the modern glassy table which was placed in the middle of the surrounding couches, the maid bowed respectfully and left. 

Everyone happily enjoyed the sweets as a symbol of welcoming good news and good luck.

Sarawat, who was observing Tine's face all this while, got an amazing idea. He took a piece of the colorful dessert, Khanom chan and fed Tine who first glanced at everyone awkwardly before eating it to avoid trouble.

Now, it was Tine's turn. Sarawat without being noticed, eyed Tine to do the same which he hesitantly did. Everyone cooed at such a sweet moment and teased the kids. 

Everything was seemed to be on track when suddenly Sia stood up while blurting,

"Shit! How can we forget that today is their engagement? We need to prepare everything accordingly. So many important works are still left to be done. How can we manage it before 7 pm?"
