"so you spilt coffee on yourself and had to go to the hospital?" abi said, still in disbelief that her friend could be so clumsy and do something so dangerous.

"yeah...but thankfully, sunwoo was there. and hyunjae and juyeon too...they helped me a lot,"

even though all abbie was doing was thanking the boys indirectly, sangyeon couldn't help but feel a little jealous. he wished he was there to help abbie.

"and why do you have flowers?"

"oh...erm, that's right...sangyeon got these for me,"

abi's suspicious glare turned into a smirk slowly. "right...in a solely platonic manner?"

abbie didn't know what to say, as much as she wanted to say no, she wished sangyeon would interrupt and say that he meant it as more than friends, that she meant more to him. but as the air grew more silent, she knew she had to answer for herself.

"yes, of course. we're friends, aren't we abbie?" sangyeon eventually interrupted before abbie could talk.

"yeah, friends,"

...

"hyung, where have you been?!" kevin asked when sangyeon came through the door late in the evening. he'd ended up spending the entire day out. first at the hospital, then at the café, and then he went for a walk with abbie. they took a walk along the Han River and he couldn't stop thinking about it since he came back.

"ohhh, here he comes. how was your date?" sunwoo said in a joking tone, even though he wasn't really joking at all.

"it wasn't a date. we just hung out. that's all," sangyeon said, but he wished it was a date. abbie was a little younger than him and there were still so many obstacles to be overcome before he ever considered dating. it would be unfair to her, she's young and has a career to focus on. he also had a career to focus on. one that didn't allow him to date..

"who is she, hyung? do we know her?" chanhee said, now intrigued after overhearing their conversation in the living room from the kitchen, leaving younghoon cursing under his breath as chanhee left him whilst he was stirring the ratatouille he was making.

"you don't.." he said, looking to sunwoo as he smirked knowingly.

"what did you guys do?" sunwoo said, raising an eyebrow suggestively.

sangyeon took a deep breath as he recalled the memories of a few hours ago. something he'd never forget.

"hey, abbie...would you perhaps want to go for a walk?" sangyeon said, putting his empty coffee cup down on the table.

abbie was taken back a little, surprised at how somebody like sangyeon was this interested in spending time with her. not that she was complaining, but she wasn't exactly sure how people in the public would take it if sangyeon was hanging out with a girl they didn't know. she looked across to abi for permission, as she was still needed to cover the last twenty minutes of her shift.

"go on, then!" abi said, sighing back into her seat.

"thank you, abi! i owe you big time! put these in a vase for me at home please!" she said, handing the roses to her friend who was also her roommate in her apartment.

sangyeon and abbie walked beside each other into the evening that was lit up by the sun setting in the distance, painting the sky in a beautiful pink and orange. sangyeon really couldn't take his eyes off abbie. she looked ethereal, and the sun seemed to make her features glow like an angel.

"where do you want to go?" she asked sweetly, sangyeon looking to her.

"how about the han river?"

the both walked beside each other in the silent air, which was not awkward but rather peaceful and comforting. they were both so close to each other, but both of them resisting every urge to take the other's hand - because they both knew it was not allowed.

"the river looks so beautiful in the evening," sangyeon said, coming to a stop as they reached a bench and sat on it.

"it definitely does," abbie said, smiling to sangyeon, earning a smile back from him. he desperately wanted to say something cheesy like 'but you're more beautiful', but he thought he'd save that for his songs. he wouldn't want to make her feel uncomfortable - especially if she didn't feel the same way about him.

"i should be getting back now," sangyeon spoke. he really didn't want to leave abbie. he could have stayed with her forever if time let him.

"yeah, no...absolutely. goodnight, sangyeon,"

"goodnight, abbie. i had a lot of fun with you,"
