"you look well, abbie," said a familiar voice that pushed through the figures of the boyz that stood in front of her.
abbie just didn't know what to say, it was as if all the air had been punched out of her lungs, nearly making her lose the ability to stand. the face she'd been imagining for two years and the voice that went with it was in front of her. she'd been dreaming of what she'd say to him if she ever saw him again, over and over. yet now he was here, she had no idea how to formulate a single word.
"we'll leave you two alone," sunwoo said after the other eleven boyz piled onto her as they greeted her. "tell abi i say hi,"
sangyeon couldn't wipe the smile off of his face, all he could think about was her. when abbie was in front of him, he thought of her. when she was at the other end of the city, he thought about her. even if she was on Tristan da Cunha, he'd still think of her, every second of every day. he believed in fate, so he knew this day was coming. it had to, eventually.
"i'm sorry," abbie blurted out, making sangyeon chuckle softly a little.
"why are you sorry? you're here, i'm here. there's nothing to worry about," he said, walking towards her and pulling her in for a hug.
abbie promised herself that there would be no tears today, but that all went out the window when she saw sangyeon. but these were happy tears. she couldn't believe she was this lucky.
"i hate to break up your reunion, but we kind of need our costumes," juyeon said, breaking up the hug between the two.
"oh, yes...of course," abbie said, wiping the tears on her face as she jumped back onto her train of thought. handing out the costumes to each member, she arrived to sangyeon last as intended.
"we have a lot of catching up to do," he whispered in her ear, making her melt with the way his hot breath felt on her skin. that was something she was never ever going to get tired of.
abbie watched the boyz' performance through the screen after choosing out stray kids' outfits and sitting on a chair in the corner of the room. she really couldn't take her eyes off of sangyeon as he performed. the group were just as amazing as she remembered, even better maybe. but sangyeon...it was only natural that he was the only one she ever had eyes for. because it was true, in all regards. abbie only ever had eyes for sangyeon, no matter if it were on stage or off stage. he truly was the only person she had ever loved and will ever love.
"you were amazing!" abbie said, running to sangyeon and cupping his face in her hands without even realising she was doing so. meanwhile the rest of the boyz awed at the couple in front of them, as abbie giggled when she realised sangyeon's makeup had rubbed off on her hands.
"let's go somewhere quieter," he said, taking her hand.
the two of them sat outside their dressing room, on a bench in the corridor just outside the room, facing astro and cravity's dressing rooms.
"i've missed you so much, abbie," sangyeon said, abbie nodding in agreement with tears beginning to well up in her eyes.
"me too, sangyeon. more than you'll ever know,"
"hey, why are you crying?" he said, wiping away the tears with the back of his hand. "it's not your fault, ok? maybe we both had to get lost to find each other again, so we could realise how much we needed each other,"
and there was nothing more sangyeon could have said to make abbie fall in love with him even more. because she was. she loved him so much, and this time she wasn't letting him go.
"i love you, sangyeon,"
"i love you too, abbie"
