Daisy's POV
I could see the greyish clouds moving past as the airplane rapidly cut through the atmospheric pressure. Two years after being away from that place & now I am going back. I ran, I hide, I fought but at the end I have no other option left then going back.
I listened as the pilot warned us on speaker about the harsh landing we might be facing due to the sudden hazardous weather change.
Within few seconds there were noises heard, everyone was babbling about the upcoming incident. The plane was shaking like a leaf which added more to their misery.
While me? I was seating calmly looking outside the window at the now turned pitch-black sky.
Thats how life is, isn't it?
One moment its shining brightly, reflecting all the good whereas the instant moment it becomes rusted.
The thundering noise was roaring all over. Kids started crying out of fear while clinging onto their family members. The air-hostesses were trying to calm down everyone but fear was evident on their faces.
Strange!
The dread presence of fear was capable enough of killing people, I wonder why everyone else seems to be afraid of things or animals. When the real fear is 'being afraid', the chilling feeling is what they should be afraid of rather than anything else.
I sighed and closed my eyes plugging my earphones on.
If I die now, atleast I will be satisfied that I died a peaceful dead rather than a 'fearful' one like them.
It might have been sometime when I felt someone shake me. I woke up abruptly and looked around. The plane looks like a mess however their was a smile on everyone's face. Few were thanking God while others were congratulating the passengers and crew.
The mere scenery ongoing infront of me was enough to know that we have landed safely.
I don't remember anything except for the fact that we were caught in some 'nasty weather condition'. I quickly wiped the sweat off my forehead from my sleeves.
My iphone was on the ground with its cracked-screen, in broken condition. I scratched my neck and clumsily put the phone in my pocket.
The doors opened and everyone started rushing out at once. It seemed as if someone was here inside the plane which may kill them any moment.
FEAR.
I won't forget to add this short trauma in my incident list.
Finally I was able to get out of the plane. I was astonished to see the throng infront of me. Usually people aren't allowed inside the airport this close, I guess the situation was quite messed up this time.
The camera flashes made me cringe and cover my face with help of my hand.
People were thanking God for saving us from such disaster. I quickly found my way out, more inside the airport. The incident was already enough to give headache, I don't need more drama.
I searched for an isolated place and sat on the couch. I decided to rest for a bit until the crowd lessen down, which I doubt will be soon. After few minutes I felt someone sit besides me but I ignored them. Maybe someone else needed a break too from this shit.
"You are really lucky, you know." I opened my eyes and looked beside me. There was a lady sitting who was staring at something but at particular nothing. I furrowed my brows in confusion.
"You are lucky that you are breathing peacefully even after facing such situation. Many people are on their trip, way to either heaven or hell." The lady didn't look normal. I continued staring at her like she had run away from some mental hospital. Not everyone says such inspiring words when anyone faces a disaster like that!
After what seemed like forever she finally turned to look at me. She looked pale while there were dark circles around her eyes.
I narrowed my eyes to suspect this lady.
She looks broken!
"My Grandfather was in the same plane. We had talk before he was boarding the plane. He sounded happy. He told me that he will be here soon in no moment. We were supposed to have a family reunion tonight." Her voice cracked a bit & I saw her gulp. Her eyes looked distant.
"He wasn't able to win over the incidence. He had a heart-attack in the plane." The lady started sobbing uncontrollably while I just sat there like a statue not knowing how to react.
I let the woman have her moment. Maybe this is her escape. Maybe this will help her to overcome the grief. Forty minutes passed away when she finally stopped crying and wiped away the tears. I had an overwhelming urge of comforting her but somehow controlled my emotions.
'Never show your weakness, let them wonder what makes you so strong.'
She was staring at me for a long time making me shift uncomfortably on couch. I glanced at her and gave a light nod. She smiled a sad smile and started walking towards the exit.
'Sometimes only after falling hard we realise how difficult it is to stand back. Life isn't full of joys but also includes hurdles.'
I picked up my broken pieces and started walking out of the (now) isolated airport.
Having a mission to accomplish, a purpose to relive my life!
Daisy never fails in anything!
