As just an average student, you've always struggled with love. Whilst the many others around you experienced sweet, little things like their first kisses.. you hadn't. You always had anime and fiction to depend on. Spending free time watching your favourite shows was common for you. Anime holds a certain comfort you can't seem to let go. At times you sit and wonder to yourself what it would be like to meet people from all different universes. Haikyuu!! Caught your attention, specifically Karasuno and their team's chemistry. Longing for a friendship like theirs in a team you can experience a whirlwind of emotions with.

As an 'average student', you get along more or less with people. What sets you apart however is your adoration towards sports. Sure, tennis was fun, not as intruiging when the entire atmosphere switches on the court between two teams, compared to the bench. You don't, however, play team sports anymore. You quit giving attention to those unrealistic fantasies about competitions and instead decided school was a lot more important. Haikyuu connected with you on a personal level, a place you could see others fulfil those burried desires..

You were sat in the front seat of your friend's car. Your parents didn't want you to drive, although 18. You more or less agreed since your friend offered to drive you. Amie was her name, the slightly short girl behind the wheel. In the seats behind accompanied Lia and Emily. You didn't really talk to neither of them. They were more like Amie's friends rather than yours. Even then, you had your insecure doubts about Amie.

Playing on your phone was a playlist of some of your favourite anime ops. Of course you were wearing earphones while the others played whatever songs they desired. The four of you were on your way home after a long evening of partially drinking and meeting others. By the end of the night, you were just exhausted and wanted to relax a little.

"Amie! Can we stop for a snack?" Lia chirped from behind. You agreed.
"Something to eat would be good." Amie obliged and parked on the side of the road. Fortunately Amie decided to stick with driving in the city only. She turned to you, lowering the music. "Could you hop out quick?"
You nodded, "But it's coming out of your pocket, I'm broke." You laughed as Amie handed you her card.
"Pringles and get a few drinks. Nothing strong, I'm driving." You lightly shook your head with a smile.

The road was pretty wide and there wasn't a crosswalk anywhere nearby so a quick half sprint worked just fine. You picked up the snacks from the convenience store and decided on no alcohol. The girl's didn't need an extra bottle and you kinda left your ID in the car.
You exited the shop with a timid goodbye. Straight across from you were the girls. The doors were open with music blaring. Lia and Amie were dancing like fools, hand in hand. It was kind of adorable seeing them like that. Emily was sat halfway out of the car with a bottle in her hand. They looked at you and cheered as you raised the bag of snacks in the air, laughing. It felt nice spending time out of the house.
You felt free
Awake..
Alive.

"Y/N!! Hurry up!" Lia shouted. You blurted a response and soon enought the girls shouted back but you couldn't make out what they were saying. You picked up your pace into a jog but everything felt as if it were slower with every step.

And slowly..

..but surely..

Time just...

..stopped..

"Y/N!!"

The last voice you heard before your head spun to the right where it had been too late..
