Past

It had been a week since Mike has been discharged from the hospital but he has been informed to visit the hospital if he feels any pain. And it has been a week since Mike knows of Ken's pregnancy. At first, he was angry at her but he understood that what is done is done and forgave her.

Today Muke would be going on a business trip accompanied by Ben and Ken. They are going with him for his safety. It means the house would be empty except for me and Zaden since Layla would not be coming for another week because she loved it there.

After Been, Ken and Mike went away, I went to the living room. Zaden went to one of his friend's house. I thought of watching something so I watched a K-drama 'Put Your Head On My Shoulder'. At around 8 p.m. Zaden came with pizzas and joined me. After watching we went to our respective rooms to do our holiday work. After finishing my chemistry work, I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth and braided my hair. I came out and looked at the wall clock and it showed 12 a.m. I went towards the calendar hanging on my wall and looked at today's date.13 June. My birthday. The day when I lost her. I don't know when the tears escaped my eyes but I felt it when it reached my chin. I cried remembering the horrible day of my life. The day which I wanted to erase from my life. The past who h hints me even today.

"Aubri, why are you buying?" Zaden asked turning me around to face him. I didn't tell anything but continued to cry. "Sshh..." He said while putting my head on his chest.

"What happened?" He asked when my crying turned into hiccups. He made me sit on my bed and handed me a glass of water. I gulped the water in one go.

"You can tell m, " he said while sitting beside me. "It will lessen your pain, " he added.

I took a deep breath and started telling him the story of my life. "Today is my birthday. On this day two years ago..."

Flashback:

Today is my birthday. Today I'm turning 16. And today Duncan, one of my classmate organised a party. And me being the popular girl should attend it.

I went into my sister's room. "Sampik, can you take me to a party?" I asked her hopefully.

"When?" She asked not looking up from the book.

"At 9 o clock."

"No way, it would be so late. You should spend your birthday with your family, " she said while looking at me.

"Please," I pleaded.

"Tell dad to take you. I have works to do."

"Dad is going somewhere."

"So?"

"You would drive me."

"But..."

"Be ready by 8:30 p.m. Love you," I said leaving no room for argument and went to my room.

At 11 a.m. my father went away saying that he would try to come before midnight. The keyword is 'try'. I and Sampik had our lunch which consists of pasta. For dessert, we had a dark forest cake made by Mrs Gonning.

Time flew by and now we are in front of Duncan's house. I wore a dress of red colour and Sampik wore a white crop top with a denim jacket on and dark blue jeans.

"Aubri, I will be outside. You go in and enjoy yourself. If you can't find me just text me. Okay? And don't be late."

"Ok, " I said and went in. After going in I found Jaxon in a corner eyeing a group of girls. "Hey, " I said coming in front of him.

"Wow Aubri! You look hot and sexy. You can put the dance floor on fire."

"And you are looking cool, Jax. You can stop the fire, " I said and we both laughed.
