I woke up in a dark room. My hands and feet were tied to a chair. I tried to remember how I ended up here and then I remembered everything. I felt another person's presence in the room.
"Who is it?" I asked the darkness.
"Aubri, you wake up, " a familiar voice said.
"What are you doing here, Jax?" I asked. And then the door opened and walked in a man. It seemed to me like that. He switched on the light and it was...
"You woke up doll, " he said.
"You..."
"Miss me, doll. I missed you too, " he said.
"What are you doing here? You should be in jail."
"I ran away from there, " Duncan said.
"How?" He pulled a chair and sat in front of me. "I killed the security guards, " he said like he was talking about the weather.
"You what?" Jaxon yelled. I forgot that he was also present in the room.
"What is he doing here?" I asked Duncan. "Let him tell you, " he said. I looked at Jaxon for the answer. "I followed you when you got kidnapped and ended up here, " he said with a stupid grin.
"So Aubri, you know, when I was in jail I got some awesome ideas to kill a person. Like to kill with a gun," he said and took out a gun from his pocket. "A knife, " he took out a knife " and with poison, " he took out a medicine bottle and kept it on the table beside him. "Don't worry I will not kill you until I have some fun with you. But I will kill two of your dearest ones. One of them is Jaxon and the other is Zaden."
"You can't kill Zaden," I said.
"I can doll I can. He would surely come here to find you and that would be his last time, " he said with an evil smirk.
"How ungrateful of me! Today is your birthday and I didn't wish you." He went out of the room and came with a box. "Happy Birthday doll, " he said and opened the box containing pastries. He fed me one despite my attempt to not to eat.
"Now doll, take some rest, I would come again, " he said and went away after turning off the light. "Happy Birthday Aubri, " Jaxon said from across the room. I laughed at the irony. Everyone is wishing me a happy birthday when I'm not happy.
Zaden P.O.V.
"Do you suspect anyone who could have done it?" Frathe asked me.
"No," I replied. Then his name came into my mind, Duncan.
"Frathe can you find out if a guy name 'Duncan' is in jail or not."
"Yes, " he said and excused himself to make a call.
"A guy named Duncan Beith escaped from the jail," he said after his call.
"He kidnapped Aubri," I said.
"How are you sure?" He asked. I told him about Aubri's past.
"Thank you Zaden for your help. I'll try my best to find her, " he said and went away.
I went to some abandoned buildings with the hope to find her. In movies, kidnappers keep the victims in an abandoned building. I searched for 2-3 buildings but didn't find her. I came home disappointedly.
I went to her room and sat on the chair in front of her study table. I was so disappointed at myself that I threw all her books on the ground. I saw something sticking out of her book. It was an envelope. I picked it. I know it's not a good thing to read others letter but my instincts told me to read it. I finally opened it. The letter read:
Doll, I have come.i have come to finish the thing which I started on that night.
Yours, Duncan.
My whole body was shaking with anger. I tore the paper into tiny pieces. I looked at the picture of her on my phone. It was the picture I had taken on our date night. She was looking at the sky and I secretly took her photo.
"I promise you Aubri, I will find you."
I went towards her wardrobe and took one of her hoodies. I hugged the hoodie and fell asleep on her bed.
