The Four Amigos

We entered the cafeteria together and got in line to get lunch "Ok Benny, Ammie, our whole future social lives could depend on how we act for the next few days, so-" Ethan started, but stopped when Benny turned to face us "What do you think?" He asked, wearing big goofy goggles on his face, making me burst out laughing

"Benny!" Ethan whisper yelled, yanking the goggles off of Benny's face "Those are state of the art alien DNA detector goggles" Benny whined, making me snort loudly "Yeah, so?" Ethan asked "Obviously the high school cafeteria is the ideal place to test 'em out E" I laughed, taking my food

"Yeah, and to brand us as dorks for the next four years" Ethan said, flicking my forehead. They started arguing over the goggles before we heard someone yelling to us "Hey, guys, over here!" "Oh no" Benny sighed, turning around "The four Amigos ride again! Hey, any of you got a buck 28?" He asked "It's the three amigos" Benny said under his breath before Ethan spoke up

"Alright, that's it. I'm getting away from you guys or I'm doomed to be-" "Ugh, dork!" A girl said after Ethan walked in to her and spilled his sloppy Joe on her shirt "Thank you, so much" she growled before walking away "You were saying?" I asked, walking over and sitting down at a table

I saw the girl sit next to Erica, my science lab partner, and I decided to apologize to her for Ethan "I will be right back" I told them, getting up and walking towards Erica and the girl "Hey Erica" I greeted, then turned to the girl "I'm Amethyst, and I'm really sorry for what my idiot brother did to your shirt. You can borrow my jacket if you need to" I said, taking it off and giving it to her

"Thanks. I'm Sarah, by the way" She said, shaking my hand, then putting on the jacket . Suddenly I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder and someone's presence beside me. I looked over to see Benny smirk at me, then turn to Erica "Hey, there, are you by any chance babysitting the Morgans tonight?"

"Yeah, why, do you know their kids?" She asked as I gave her I stop talking signal "Yeah, one of 'ems my buddy. He's sitting right over there..." He said, pointing to Ethan who was hiding his face "He's a bit shy. And, another one is this babe right here" He said, pointing to me, his arm still around my shoulder

Benny flirted with me all the time, so I've gotten used to his remarks and actions, as long as they never went too far, and, of course, with Benny being a respectful human, they never did "See ya around" He said, before removing his arm and going back to sit with Ethan and Rory

"You need a babysitter?" Erica asked "No, I don't need a babysitter. It's for my little sister, because we can't be trusted to take care of her. I think you'd like her, she loves Dusk" I explained "I can live with that" She smiled "Also, what was with you and that boy?" Sarah questioned, wiggling her eyebrows

"Who, Benny? He's just my friend" I assured "My brother and him are besties and when we were younger I had no friends so Ethan and Benny were always there for me. Now I have Erica, Rory, and hopefully you as a friend?"  "Obviously" Sarah smiled "Awesome. I should probably get back to them though, I'm supposed to make sure nothing bad happens. Bye" I waved, before getting up and sitting next to Rory "You two are being babysat by a Dusker. I hear fans of Dusk are so lame" Rory told us

"Yeah, you should talk" I said, and Ethan backed me up, saying "You still sleep with your Star trek enterprise jammies" "Dusk is based on fairytale creatures. Star trek is based on actual physics" Rory stated "Yep, he's got a point" I said, before putting my lunch tray away and going to class

After school
"Hey, check it out. It looks like they found the rest of that missing senior" Benny said as I looked at his phone while walking beside him "The rest?" Ethan asked "Yeah, it says here that he was all shriveled up" I said, taking Benny's phone to read the article

"Kinda like this juice box" Benny told Ethan. I knew for a fact that there was still juice left in it, so I took a step back while Benny got juice all over Ethan "I am so sorry" Benny apologized, and I laughed at my dorky bestie. Ethan shoved him "Dude!"

I took the juice box from Benny, taking a sip of it "Oh, bummer. Looks like she's already hooked up with Mr too-cool-for-school" I looked up, seeing Sarah up against a tree with Jesse in front of her with one arm leaning against the tree "Did someone mention my name?" Rory asked, coming up beside us. Benny and Ethan sighed as we all watched Sarah push Jesse's chest and almost walk away, while Erica walked up to her, and they talked before Sarah actually did walk away

"Something's not right about the drama club" Me and Ethan said at the same time. Twins. Am I right? I laughed at myself while I zoned out, and Benny sighed "I am so going to your house tonight" After I finished laughing at myself for a stupid reason, I zoned back in while Ethan said "Great. The more mathletes the merrier"

"Can I come?" Rory asked "No" Everyone said to him

Later that night
Me, Jane, and Ethan were all sitting at the table doing our own things when Jane decided to speak up "It must be pretty embarrassing to need a babysitter in highschool" Me and Ethan glanced up at her while I rolled my eyes, closing my sketchbook as Mom and Dad walked in

"Howdy partners" Mom greeted in a country type accent "Ain't she prettier than a 20 dollar bill in a ten gallon hat?" Dad asked "Oh, well thank you kind sir" Mom giggled as I looked at Ethan in disgust "We're going country line dancing" Mom said as Dad dipped her "Yeah, we kinda noticed" Ethan awkwardly laughed "Mom, Dad, me and Ammie just wanted to say, you were right. We shouldn't have left Jane attended last week and we've learned our lesson"

"So you can cancel the sitter, and save 25 bucks" I nodded "Ethan, Ammie, I already told you. I'm not gonna leave you two alone with Jane until I know you both can be trusted" Mom said, before checking her watch and walking away "Sorry kids, she's the sheriff" Dad apologized before dancing away

"Fine" Ethan said as we packed up our stuff that was on the table "We'll be in our room" We were upstairs and I had one earbud in, listening to Green Day, while drawing in my sketchbook. Ethan was sitting at his desk drawing something until Benny called him "Hey man" Benny greeted "Any sign of the babysitter yet?" He asked while winking as if it was some secret code

"No, not yet. And we're staying in our room as a sign of protest" Ethan said, referring to me also "Hey Ammie" Benny smiled, as I waved. They talked about something quietly and Ethan said "Good luck with that" before hanging up. I just rolled my eyes, knowing that Benny has a plan for tonight, and those plans are probably with Erica
