The Babysitter's a Vampire?

" Thanks Grandma, you're a lifesaver" Benny thanked Evelyn his Grandma " Any time dear" She nodded " She smells funny" Jane frowned, causing me to chuckle and smack her arm playfully " No she doesn't, she smells nice, like flowers mothballs" Ethan said as we walked over to Benny

" Alright, if the pizza isn't here in" Benny glanced at his watch " 26 minutes, you do not pay a dime" He told Evelyn " We will be right back, I promise" I told them " I hate being eight" Jane huffed

We made our way outside and Benny had a whole bunch of his geeky stuff with him, dropping it on the ground as he walked, making me look back at him " What is all that stuff?" Me and Ethan asked at the same time " Digicams with night vision infared. You can't possibly expect us to investigate the supernatural realm with our the proper equipment!" He stated " Ok, fine, just keep it in the down low" Ethan rolled his eyes " She already thinks I'm a perv"

" You said her reflection wasn't all there, right?" I asked, and he nodded " Here's a thought, maybe this is a publicity stunt for that stupid dusk movie" I rolled my eyes as Benny yelled out " If this is a punk, I knew it all along!"

" Benny, shhh!" Ethan scolded him " C'mon, she said she was headed towards town" We walked around and Benny put those weird goggles on. About five minutes later we stopped " Its hopeless. We lost her" I sighed " I. Need. Pizza" Benny said, making me chuckle " She's out here, I feel it" Ethan looked around

We heard a crash in the alley beside us, and we walked over to check it out. We heard another crash " There's something in the alley" Ethan stated the obvious " Night vision engaged!" Benny held his camera up towards the alley and his facial expression changed completely

I took the camera from him and saw Sarah eating a rat, making my eyes widen " We should leave" I gulped " We should leave right now" Ethan took the camera from my hands and looked at it. We all looked at her again, and screamed. She turned to us and hissed, making us scream again, and I took off

I saw Ethan running as well, then saw Benny behind us screaming. I turned around, grabbed his hand and ran " We are so dead!" Ethan yelled as we ran " Speak for yourself! Skinny girl coming through!" I yelled back at him

" Ahh! Help! My babysitter's a vampire!!" Ethan screamed as he fell behind Benny and I. We were out of breath but we kept running "Remember Halo, level three? The battle plan I sent you? Evasive maneuvers. Alpha phi strike delta six, Engage!" Benny said before doing a weird maneuver and flipping over a large pot or something

Me and Ethan looked at each other before running over to check on Benny " You missed the pattern..." Benny groaned " Sometimes... We just skim your emails" Ethan said, as we caught our breath " Fair enough" Benny nodded and I helped him up " What's your problem?" We heard someone ask from behind us. We turned to see Sarah and screamed,  before feeling a large hand wrap around mine " Hold on! If you eat us, that would so not be cool!" I yelled at her

" If I was gonna eat you, I would've done it by now" She told us. Benny's eyes widened "See, she's gonna eat us, we're doomed!" " No, no, no, I just want to talk to you guys" Ethan turned to her with a makeshift cross made out of two sticks " Demon of the night, be gone!" " Guys, whatever you saw, it's not what it looks like" She shook her head. I scoffed " You're a freaking vampire, who eats animals, and drinks their blood!"

" Ok, so it is kind of what it looks like, but-" She started, but was cut off by Benny " I'm warning you, I had garlic bread for lunch, and I'm not afraid to use my breath"

" Would you three just shut up! I'm just a normal girl, okay? Or at least I was until I got bit by my crummy ex-boyfriend. I'm technically still a fledgling until I drink human blood, which I really don't want to do, so..." She trailed off " I have to figure out how to stop this thing before my mortal body dies, or at least stop it from happening to more people like Erica"
