ian and one of his best friends, romil, decided to go out. they weren't really planning on ending up in a club, but ian wasn't complaining. drinking and dancing was something that ian needed tonight.

romil had gone off in his own, probably dancing with some girls. ian had had a few drinks and was dancing by himself. maybe he wasn't the best dancer, he didn't mind.

he was enjoying himself and that's all that mattered. he was dancing with his eyes closed, just letting himself dance to the beat of the music.

he felt two hands on his waist and opened his eyes. he had to look up a little bit to make eye contact with the stranger. he was pretty hot, so he wasn't complaining.

the stranger smiled, "hey pretty boy."

ian's face flushed and he smiled, "hi."

"mind if i dance with you?"

ian shook his head, "not at all. i'm ian."

"cute. i'm jaden," he pulled him closer.

the two of them danced together for a bit. jaden was very attractive and he definitely knew what he was doing. that's all ian could want honestly.

after they had been dancing for about ten minutes, a guy came pushing through the crowd. he shoved ian's shoulder, didn't apologize, and stopped next to jaden. he seemed pretty pissed off about something, and jaden didn't seem amused.

"you told me you weren't dancing with anyone tonight, yet here you are. dancing with some guy."

this guy was definitely older then the both of them, like way older. when he said that jaden looked a little grossed out by him. jaden pulled ian closer, so his chest was against his.

"well he is my boyfriend. i think he'd be pretty upset if i didn't dance with him."

ian knew what it felt like to be hit on or followed by older men, so he'd play along. he rested his head against jaden and looked at stranger up and down.

he held his hands up and took a few steps back, "sorry. i'll go then."

once he was out of sight jaden took a few steps back and sighed, "thank you so much! he's been following me around all night. i thought i'd never get rid of him."

"course," ian nodded. "i know what it's like for creepy old guys to follow you around."

jaden laughed, "ahh yeah. not the most fun, but thank you again."

jaden took his hands from ian's waist and turned to leave. that was it? ian grabbed his arm and pulled him back towards him.

"leaving already? i though you said i'd be upset if you didn't dance with me."

"didn't want to intrude," jaden said with a smirk, putting his hands back on ian's waist. "but i guess if you don't mind, maybe i can stay a little bit longer."

"you're not intruding if i want you here."

the two of them continued to dance. there was definitely a tension between them, and if ian wasn't here with romil, he'd probably leave with jaden. jaden seemed be thinking the same thing, about leaving that is.

"you want to get out of here?"

ian would have loved to say yes, but he couldn't. "i wish i could. but, i'm here with my friend and he has some important meetings to get to in the morning, so i have to make sure he gets home okay."

jaden pouted, "you sure you can't come? he'll be fine by himself."

ian laughed, "i wish. but he really won't be fine by himself. last time i left him by himself he ended up an hour away from our house."

"okay so where is this friend?" jaden looked around the dance floor.

ian looked around and saw romil making his way towards him. "he's actually right there, coming towards us right now."

"hey ian and ian's friend, or maybe not friend. you two are a little close to be friends."

jaden laughed and ian blushed, "hey romil. you ready to go?"

romil nodded, "yup! i ordered us an uber and it'll be here in a few. i'll meet you outside."

ian nodded and turned back to jaden as romil walked away, "well i had fun."

"i did too," jaden smiled. "kinda wish i could leave with you."

"can i give you my number?" ian asked.

jaden nodded and passed him his phone. ian quickly typed in his number and his name. ian passed him back his phone and shoved his hands into his pockets.

"i'll see you later then."

jaden nodded, "yeah i'll see you."

ian made his way through the crowd on the dance floor and outside, looking for romil. he was standing at the curb, looking down at his phone. probably waiting for their uber to pull up.

"geez what took you so long," romil joked. "thought you would never come out here."

"sorry," ian scratched the back of his neck. "had to get his number though."

"mm," romil hummed.

ian kicked the rocks on the ground as he walked up to stand next to romil. he couldn't help but think that jaden wouldn't even text him. it had happened before. a guy dances with him, he has to leave, he gets his number, promises to text, and then repeats the cycle with guys until someone goes home with him.

it sucks but that's how he works. he was just hoping jaden wasn't one of those guys. his phone buzzed in his back pocket and he pulled it out quickly.

hey it's jaden.

ian smiled to himself and texted him back quickly.

hey

even though jaden was still inside, he was texting back pretty quickly. it made ian feel a little bit better though.

think you're gonna be free in the morning? i'm gonna need to get hangover breakfast and i'll only be able to listen to you

hmm i think i could make it work

okay then i'll see you tomorrow?

yeah i'll see you in the morning

"hey," romil said.

ian looked up at him as he opened the door of a car, "stop texting lover boy and get in. you were too busy texting to notice our ubers here."

"sorry," ian laughed nervously. "guess i was a little preoccupied."
