Chapter 3

Olivia's P.O.V

The next morning I woke up and got ready for the day. That's when my dad, the King walked in. " Sweetie, I don't want you around that villager, the guards said he is a troubled some guy, and I don't want you hurt by him, do you understand me!" He said strictly and I looked at him.

" Joshua? He's not trouble, he's reasonable, and kind, surprisingly better than any Prince around the world!" I said defending his name, but my dad didn't like that, " You can't marry him he's not a Royal, you have to marry a royal to rule the kingdom!" He said placing his hands on the back on the couch.

" Says Who?!" I asked demanding an answer to this foolish rule, " SAYS THE BOARDROOM!" He shouted at me, " Bu-" I was about to say but he interrupted me, " No Buts about it, plus me and your mother already found your husband, Prince Anthony from Scotland." He said and I raised my eyebrow, " NO!" I said furious about that decision.

" You are going to go see him right now and accept that engagement ring, YOUNG LADY!" He shouted at me and I looked at him, " After can I go to the town alone!" I asked and he smiled, " Yes you may!" He said and walked out. As I went outside to the courtyard I saw Anthony waiting on one knee.

" Olivia Isabel Rodrigo will you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife...." he said smiling at me and I wasn't exactly thrilled by it, it wasn't spontaneous, or different, it didn't tug at my heart and make me want to burst into tears! It was lifeless at that point. " Yes!" I said pretending with everything emotion in my body.

" This was my great-great-great grandmother's ring, it's been in the family for centuries and now you are the luckiest woman to have it." He said excited while he placed the ring on my finger, and kissed me which wasn't even that good of a kiss.

" Well I will see you later tonight, I've got to go run errands right now." I said and he kissed me again, " Don't miss me too much!" He said and I did the cheesiest smile, " I won't miss you at all!" I said grinning my teeth so he wouldn't hear me. As I walked to my limousine.

"Are you sure you want to walk alone?" My driver Michael said to me as he helped me out." Yes I'm sure, I'll call you if I need you, go spend time with your wife and kids Micheal!" I said and he bowed, " Thank You Princess!" He said and I smiled, " No problem!" I said as I started walking, that's when I saw a man proposing to his girlfriend. Until he got so nervous he dropped the ring down the septic tank.

" Sir, take this ring, it's an engagement ring, but I don't need it and plus think of it as a gift from the princess!" I said handing him the ring that was properly placed on my finger. " Um oh my god, thank you Princess!" The man and woman both said, and I smiled, " If you want you can totally sale that and make money, because it's worth $3.2 million dollars."

I said and they were stunned, " Thank you!" The woman said and hugged me and I hugged her back, " You totally helped us, well not just us but our kids as well." She said and I smiled, " No problem, have a nice life and wedding!" I said as I trailed away, that's when I came across a little library. I walked in and was looking through the different books. Until I saw an arm reach over me to put a book away, but knocked me a little forward.

Placing their hand on the middle of my back, " I'm sorry!" The familiar voice spoke, that's when I turned around, " Joshua?" I whispered, and he was shocked at my appearance. " Princess Olivia!" He said slightly above a whisper and everyone shushed him. " What are you doing here?" He asked and I smiled, " Running away from an engagement I just forced to say yes too! What about you?"

I said and he looked at my hand, " No ring still, and I work here!" He said and I smiled, " funny story, I gave a ring to a couple that dropped theirs and told them to go sale it!" I said and holding a book, that's when he took the book from my hands slowly, " The Summer I Turned Pretty!" He read the title, " I thought I would take a test run at reading it!" I said and he handed it back to me.

" About last night, I didn't mean to interrupt your ball, I just-" he was saying and I didn't even hesitate, I just did what my heart screamed at me to do, I placed my right hand on the back of his neck and pulled him closer and kissed him. He didn't take long at all to get the memo to kiss me back as he stretched his arm out to the book shelf so he wouldn't fall forward into me.

This kiss felt magical, memorizing, spontaneous, breathtakingly Perfect, the best part, it made my heard pound in my chest, it put a smile on my lips, and it was MY decision. That's when he pulled away, " Your engaged!" He said and I smiled, " Not without a ring I'm not!" I said and he looked at me, " Your really pushing your boundaries this time aren't you Princess?" He said shaking his head, and I slightly laughed. " Is that bad?" I said and he shook his head, " not at all!" He said as he kissed me again.
