"This type of behavior will not go unpunished in my school," said Principal Nam coldly.
Lyn smirked as she looked at Jungkook, a feeling of triumph filling her. "And that's karma for you," she muttered. Jungkook's jaw was open as he stared at the principal.
"I-I-wh-what?" he sputtered. He watched as the secretary leaned over to whisper something in Principal Nam's ear, making his face light up with joy.
"Ah yes yes. I have the perfect punishment for you both."
Lyn blinked and stared at him blankly. "B-both of us...? Wait, I'm the victim here, why am I being punished?"
"It's a very easy punishment."
Jungkook scoffed and walked away, rolling his eyes. "I came here to learn, not to take punishments."
Principal Nam signaled the guards as they surrounded Jungkook. "Remember Mr. Jeon. My school, my rules."
As he adjusted his glasses, his sharp eyes glowed a faint cinnamon color. "If not... I have other ways to make you obey."
Jungkook smirked and cocked his head. "I've never lost a fight in my entire life." He clenched his fists and his eyes narrowed. Lyn watched the gold seep into his eyes with fear. As she reached out to warn Principal Nam, a clear voice resounded in the quiet hallway.
"It's so noisy today Principal Nam. I have the documents you wanted."
The tension in the air whooshed out the door as Principal Nam smiled at Professor Lin. "You came just in time Professor Lin. Jeon Jungkook just transferred here. He's majoring in Biology, your course."
Professor Lin's eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly as his eyes caught sight of the bruises on Lyn's body. He spun around to face Jungkook, extending his hand.
Jungkook shook it, concealing the shock he felt at the cold of the professor's body well.
"Welcome to Biology."
...
Jungkook slapped the week of his car with his fist, angrily speeding down the streets.
"Do I really have to stay at this crappy school?"
"Yes you do Kookie. I already paid for it."
Jungkook rolled his eyes as he glared at the screen. "Don't call me that."
"Whatever you say Kookie," said the voice tauntingly. Jungkook opened his mouth to retort but closed it once he heard the tell tale beep.
Jungkook closed his eyes and crossed his arms, letting the car go on autopilot. "What is up with that professor? My intuition screams danger when I'm with him, but he doesn't smell nor have the mark of a snake."
His car screeched past the gate of the Jeon Mansion and he slammed the door as he got out of the car, his long legs skipping three steps every time he stepped up on the stairs.
The guards at the gate shivered. "I guess Mr. Jeon is in a bad mood today."
"Kookie's always in a bad mood."
The guards jumped and bowed in apology. "S-sorry sir."
A tall man stood before them, grinning. "No matter. Dismissed."
The guards scurried off, slapping each other as they went.
Jungkook punched in the password to the mansion, tapping his foot impatiently.
A man popped up on the video doorbell, his face taunting. He smoothed his long, silvery hair back, letting it floop back to where it was before."Nu-uh Kookie. You're in trouble today. You made three mistakes."
Jungkook roared, slamming his fist against the door again. "WHAT THE HELL DID I DO WRONG?"
"Shut up." The previously smiley face smoothly transitioned into a cold mask. His eyes glittered silver and dark red streaks appeared in his hair.
"You made three mistakes today. Do you know what you did wrong?"
Jungkook crossed his arms and looked to the side. "I don't know."
"Then stay out there and reflect until you do."
Jungkook pouted and shook his shoulders, trying to charm his brother into letting him in. "I'm so hungry I can't think."
The man's face hardened as his cheeks took on a faint pink tinge. "You still want to lead the Feathered with this mindset? The only reason our kind is still alive is because we followed the rules the Mammalia set billions of years ago: don't reveal our existence. Yet you set up a formation in the middle of a temple, and again in the middle of the university!"
"Second, you disrespected your elders. You talked back to Principal Nam. He's a family friend and yet you yelled at him, threatening to fight him. Again, how can you lead the Feathered with this sort of mindset?"
Jungkook pouted and closed his eyes, crossing his arms. "Okay, okay. I know I'm wrong. What's the third mistake?"
The double door in front of him boomed open, a red-tailed hawk zooming towards Jungkook and snuggling his neck. Jungkook shoved it away.
The bird did a loop in the air and landed fancily in front of him. The man with the long silver hair appeared once more, a stern smile on his face. "Third. Control your temper. How many times do I have to tell you not to slam the door? That's money! Hard. Earned. Cash. Just because you're rich doesn't mean you can be like those spoiled brats."
Jungkook bit his lips and poked his tongue at the inside of his cheek, trying to hold back a smile. His brother moved forward, wrapping his arms around his younger sibling.
"You'll make a great leader for the Feathered. I know it. You just... I hope you can improve. Welcome home Kookie."
Jungkook gave in and hugged his brother back. His brother pulled away and smiled. "Great. I have a present for you."
Jungkook's eyes lit up as he looked at his brother. "A new car?"
"Now that you're home, you can copy the family teachings and rules so you won't forget them!" The man shoved a thick book into Jungkook's arms and smiled.
"NOOOOO!"
