"Delilah!" My mom shouts from downstairs the for the fifth time. I'm currently curling my hair and getting ready for another long day of school.
The door swings open and reveals my angry mother. She points her finger at me and says, "Delilah, if you're late for the tenth time this year, you're grounded and I'm taking away your phone!"
I roll my eyes, but listen to her and unplug my curling iron and put on my shoes before grabbing my back pack. I say goodbye and get in my car.
The drive to school is fast and quiet, like always. When I arrive, I quickly get out and rush over to Oscar and Addison, my best friends.
"Ignore my hair, my mom was yelling at me because I was late." I scowl at them when I notice them eying my hair. They both laugh and the bell rings. I guess I was late.
"Hey, guys so I heard about this party at some guys house who's in college tonight, and I think we should go." Oscar suggest. We have never really been to any big party's, only because we thought it was fun with just three of us, in our backyard with a nice fire and some alcohol.
"Yeah!" Addison says with no hesitation.
"Sure." I sigh and say goodbye to them to go to my classes.
The day goes by slow and boring. Just like any other day. The teachers yelling and screaming at students to be quiet and girls bickering back and forth over boys. I've never really found drama or boys entertaining. The whole concept of love just makes me want to puke. Like, how does someone not get bored of waking up every morning to the same old face? Well, I have no experience with boys, so I guess I shouldn't be judging.
When the day is finally over, I meet Oscar and Addison by my car.
"So is there a dress code for this party?" Addison asks and Oscar chuckles. I throw my backpack on top of my car as I unlock it. Once it unlocks I grab my backpack and put on the seat.
"No Addison." Oscar laughs and Addison scowls.
"Okay, well, meet at my house at seven?" I tell them, before getting in my car. They both nod their heads and I watch as they walk away. I start to pull out of the parking lot, but I'm stopped when my alarms go off. The ones that go off when you get too close to something. I turn around, accepting it to be Oscar and Addison messing with me, but it isn't. Instead, it's a curly brown haired boy who I've never seen before. He gives me a disgusted look and flips me off. What a dick.
When I finally get back home, it's only a quarter after four. I decide to take a shower for the party. I grab a towel and find a dress to wear. I find a red short dress that's skin tight and exposes my back. I fold it up and set it on the toilet with my towel and jump in the shower.
The warm water soothes my skin and relaxes me. I slowly wash my hair and body. The water feels so nice that I don't even want to get out, but I push my self.
I dry my body and slip on my dress. I admire myself in the mirror. I've never really had insecurities about my body. I have the perfect round bottom, and a tiny waist I adore. I should thank my mom for that because her body looks exactly like mine.
I blow dry my hair and then straighten it when I'm done. I don't normally straighten it, but I like it. My black hair hangs down all the way to my butt and has a shiny silky look to it.
My phone starts to buzz on the counter and Oscar's name comes across the screen.
"Where are you?" He asks.
"What do you mean? It's only like five." I run my fingers through my hair as he continues to talk.
"Uh, no it's not. It's seven forty five." He laughs and I check the time on my phone. Sure enough, it's seven forty five.
"Crap. I'll be out in a second, just let me grab my shoes." I hang up on him quickly and rush to my closet to find a pair of black heels. I slip them on and grab a black purse just to hold my phone. My mom is still at work and won't be home all night.
I rush outside and get in the back of Oscar's car. Oscar has a t-shirt and jeans, while Addison has her hair curled and a beautiful pastel pink flower dress on. I've always loved Addison's aesthetic, I could just never pull it off. I don't have the softie, baby, face.
"Wow Delilah. You look like a bad bitch!" Oscar hypes me up and I smile at him, getting that confident feeling.
"So like, I really have no idea where the damned house is, but I'm positive I will find it." I look over at Addison and she's biting her lip, trying to hide her laughter. Oscar hates being laughed at.
Twenty minutes later, we arrive at the house without getting lost. The music is so loud I can hear it from outside. There's empty red cups laying on the ground, along with a couple of people. We walk past people playing a game of beer pong, and also a drunk guy puking over the deck.
When we get inside, its even more crowded. I hear Addison complaining to her self. I look at Oscar who has the biggest smile on his face, showing his beautiful white teeth.
"So what are we supposed to do?" Addison says as we reach the kitchen where there is less people.
"We grab a cup, drink, and then we see where it goes from there." I laugh and walk over to where all the alcohol sits.
"Shall we start with a shot?" Oscar suggest and I'm full on.
I pour us all each a shot, we count down from three and then we throw our heads back. The alcohol burns my throat, like always, but it's worth the feeling you get afterwards.
I grab a cup of beer and we began our journey.
"Where should we go?" I ask them, and look around. It's just a bunch of party teens dancing to the music.
"We should play some alcohol games." Addison suggest and excitement fills me.
"Yes! Let's find a place to sit." Oscar and Addison follow behind me. I push past sweaty drunk people until we find two small couches that are empty.
We all three sit down on the same couch.
"So what game should we play? We don't have any cards." Oscar sighs and chugs his beer.
"I used to have a whole bunch of cards, but you know how people are, they like to steal your stuff or forget about them and leave them laying around to get lost." A deep male voice says. I look up to see a familiar face. I don't how I know him, I just feel like I do.
"My bad, Kai, I believe you're the girl that almost ran me over today." He says and holds out his hand. That's how I knew him. I shake his hand, and for some reason I have a shock in me from his warm hands.
"May I join you guys?" He sits down. I look over at Oscar and he smiles. Oscar must think he's attractive.
"Sure." Addison smiles and Kai smiles back.
