A/N: OMG. It's been forever since I last updated. I'm so sorry, been super busy. Plus I suffered some major writers block for a while.

But here I am, back in business. I've got a couple new works out, too: preview for Phantasmal is out (hopefully will start updating during mid to late January), Toxic is out and currently in progress, and Ephemeral is out as well. Make sure to check them all out, and yes, Crimson is still being updated, just a little slowly.

Anyways, here's the next chapter. I'll try to update more often, I promise. Don't forget to vote, comment, and enjoy!

Tessa's POV:

"I CALL TOP BUNK!" Luke screamed as we entered the cabin. I watched as Luke hurriedly ran through the front door and stopped in front of the staircase, taking a moment to observe our surroundings. A goofy smile was plastered on his face and he nodded approvingly at the cabin.

Zach grinned from beside Luke. "We'll see who gets there first," he said slyly. Luke looked at Zach, a questioning look on his face. It took him a moment to register what Zach had said, and before he could react, Zach broke into a sprint. Luke widened his eyes and cursed underneath his breath as he quickly ran up the wooden stairs, following Zach to the rooms.

"I just want food," Sam announced as he walked over to the kitchen. He shrugged off his gray sweater and tossed it on one of the red chairs seated in front of the black granite counter. "Who's got the coolers?"

"Right here, your royal highness," Clary called out as she walked in the cabin, carrying two coolers in her hand. Her blonde hair swished from side to side in her ponytail as she stomped over towards Sam with a fake look of irritation. "There are more in the truck, go move your lazy butt and get them."

"It's okay, me and Simon got them!" Chloe wheezed as she struggled through the doorway while carrying another cooler. Simon appeared with one cooler in his hand and followed her. He offered to help her carry it, but she just shook her head and smiled widely at us.

"It's so pretty here!" she squealed through deep exhales as she waddled to the kitchen. "The car ride was exhausting but it was--" deep breath "worth it! The weather here is perfect and the --" deep breath "lake looks perfect for swi--" deep breath "-mming. And this cabin is so big!" she said as she placed the cooler on the ground. Simon stood awkwardly by her side and stared at her, fascinated, as she continued to talk. "We should quickly put our stuff into our rooms and then go out for a hike, it's still morning and it isn't too hot outside! Well, not that Rosewood is ever really hot. But I mean, the weather is perfect for hiking! Weather for hiking. We can call it --"

"Hiking weather?" Simon shyly squeaked, finishing her sentence. Chloe turned to face him and beamed.

"Exactly!" she giggled. "I like you. You're name is Simon, right? Simon. You're cute. I think we're going to be great friends." Simon blushed at her words and stared at his shoes as she continued to talk.

"Is it just me or do they make a super cute couple?" Megan whispered in my ear.

"I was thinking the exact same thing," I whispered back as we watched Chloe and Simon talk and laugh. Simon stood with his hands in his pocket awkwardly and shyly hid his eyes behind his blonde overgrown hair as he watched Chloe talk excitedly about something.

"What are we whispering about?" Jake appeared beside me, taking me by surprise. I exhaled sharply; I didn't want to look at him and instead watched Megan widen her eyes slightly as she did a double take. She was still trying to process that we were spending the weekend with "the famous Jake Rivers" and wouldn't stop talking about it on the car ride here to Lake Asher.
