A/N: New chapter! Hope you guys like it. Just an FYI, since this is my first story, I'm a bit choppy when it comes to my writing so I know I have to edit a lot, so I'll be tweaking previous chapters as I go along with this story. The edits should update itself on its own, but I just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be still working to improve all my chapters.

Also: attached is a picture of how I imagine Jake Rivers to look like. ;) Anyways, don't forget to rate, comment, and enjoy :)

Tessa's POV:

"I can't believe Mr. Jim is giving us homework on the second day of school," Megan complained as she stabbed her lunch with her fork. "A 5 page essay due Friday? What horrible human being even does that?"

"Obviously a middle-aged history teacher who hasn't been laid in a while," Luke grinned as he wiped his mustard-covered hands with his napkin. "Poor old man's been in a lonely and cranky mood for the past 3 years. You, my dear Megs, are gonna die in his class. Lucky for me, I have Ms. Clark for history."

Megan pouted. "Ms. Clark doesn't even give homework, does she?"

"I heard all she does is show documentaries to the class," Simon said as he took a bite out of his hamburger. "Half the time the class is asleep and Ms. Clark won't give a flying derp."

"I heard even she falls asleep in class," Zach laughed from beside me. "I think someone recorded her snoring and drooling once."

Simon snorted out some of the milk he was drinking out of his nose as he laughed. "Wow. Well, easy A for you," he told Luke. "And death for you," he nodded to Megan.

I wrapped my arms around Megan, shooting a glare at Simon. "Don't worry," I assured her. "If Mr. Jim gets too hard on you, the five of us will take him down together, okay?"

That earned a small laugh from Megan, who was still stabbing her food out of frustration. "If we take him down, you guys better figure out a way to get me into Ms. Clark's class."

"Deal," I smiled at her. "Now quit torturing your food and eat."

"You have Mr. Murray for history, right?" Zach asked me.

"Nope, I have Ms.Clark too, next period," I replied, taking a bite out of his brownie.

"I have Mr. Murray," Simon said with his mouth full of food. "He's pretty chill. Did you know he used to be in a rock band when he was 16?"

Zach raised his eyebrows. "A rock band? Yeah right. Mr. Murray is cool, but not that cool. I'm pretty sure he used to be a fortune cookie writer."

Luke shook his head. "No, no, he used to be a party clown. I know that he had a really bizarre job back in his youth, and that was it, he was a party clown."

"Where on earth did you guys hear all that? You guys have the story wrong. He was a stunt double for Tom Cruise, everyone knows that," Megan said knowingly.

"Tom Cruise?" Luke snorted. "The rock band theory is more believable than that."

"Maybe he wasn't any of that," I offered, "and he's been a history teacher all his life? And all the rumors are wrong?"

The four of them stared at me with offended looks. "Don't be ridiculous," Luke scoffed. "Maybe all the rumors are right."

"Don't hate him just cuz you ain't him," Simon scolded me.

I threw my hands in the air, laughing. "Okay, okay, fine. Mr. Murray was a clown-musician-stunt-double who wrote people's fortunes into their cookies and later became a history teacher. Better?"
