Chapter Two: Temple of Dark Arts

I would like to say that my everyday is a new adventure. But with saying that I would be lying. As much as it sounds exciting so say you are living amongst Gods, it's not all rainbows and butterflies.

You see, the Gods, usually have absolutely nothing to do. From time to time they claim their kids, but that's about it. They pretend they have so many things to do, but in reality they don't.

Okay, sure, Hades actually has to take care of intruders and dead people (and he works the hardest of the Gods) but the rest just....fight. Like all the time.

Ares is still not over that time Percy Jackson kicked his butt in a fight (and must I say, I was very impressed by the boy's skills) and Poseidon never wants him to forget it.

Athena complains how her children don't do anything. Apollo loves his kids (which I respect) and is very thankful no matter what they do. Artemis leads the girls (therefore pays her children the most attention of all Gods). Aphrodite loves to bless her kids with makeup and glitter and all the yucky love stuff.

Hades is a good example of a God that cares for his kids. Even though the number of them is small, they still mean a lot to him. And he doesn't pick favourites (at least someone), but secretly we all know that Bianca was his favourite (can't blame him, she was pretty badass).

So everyday on Olympus is like a big family reunion (you know, with all the weird uncles and aunts that you actually never want to see but your parents make you). Not that my dad cares about me. Oh no, it's exactly the opposite. If he could, he would kill me (probably like my mom).

But I feel exactly the same. Cause if Zeus were to die, the Titans would rule again. And that wouldn't be so bad. Yes, I full support the Titans. How can I not when the Gods threat me the way they do.

The only good thing about living on Olympus is the endless amount of food (thanks to Dionysus, even though he doesn't live on Olympus) and the drama that always seem to find its way up here.

There is always something going on. Whether a new prophecy has been said. A new quest been given. A new camper welcomed to the camp. A new monster mysteriously found its way to the camp (I wonder how). Or Percy Jackson did something and the Gods hate him for it (shocking I know).

I like to watch the kids in my free time. The are so fascinating. The way they train and all the drama that happens. There is always someone doing something that gets everyone hurt. It's quite fun to watch really.

But the best moment of my life was when the Gods received the head of Medusa. Oh, that was so amazing. Ever since then, I found a new respect for the kid of Poseidon (but not Poseidon himself, he's still a little bitch).

But when I don't feel like listening to drama, I go to my chamber (yes I have my own chamber on the Olympus, thanks to Hecate of course) where I like to practice.

What I practice, you might ask, well I have this weird (but totally awesome) magic powers. Since my mom died in early years of my life, I was raised by the goddess of Witchcraft (amongst other things of course), and she wanted to teach me some of it.

I have become quite good at it and I learned to control it and hide it so well, that even the Gods sometimes forget I have these powers. And they can't do anything about them, since one of them was the one who blessed me with the powers. And by taking away my powers they would start a war amongst themselves (which I'm sure they don't want).

So they just leave me alone. Which is totally fine by me. Sometimes I go down amongst the mortals to collect some props I use to create my altar. Yes, I have my very own altar.

On Olympus there is this building built just for me. Zeus didn't want me close to the other Gods, so he requested Athena to create a building just for me. Not that I mind. I like having something just for myself. And I got to decorate it myself (which was very fun to do). I spend a month decorating it and the result is amazing.

The building (Temple of Dark Arts, as I like to call it) stands tall and proud, but away from the thrones of the Gods (just the way I like it). I specially requested for there to be rooms (you know with four walls and doors and that sorta things). I liked the cabins that are build in the Camps of demigods. So I requested for my Temple to look similar (but bigger and with more rooms).

I have my very own dining hall, which can fit a few people in (approximately 10) so I can have guests. Hecate usually sits with me and sometimes Nemesis joins us. Sometimes even Aphrodite does (when she needs something from me).

The room, in which the altar is, is quite dark. The walls are painted in dark purple (which signifies my powers) with different painting on them. I like the old paintings. There is something special about the arts they used to drew. It has special powers.

The altar is right in the middle of the room, with a star with five angles, which is painted on the floor (my work, might I add).

A big wooden cross is on the wall in front of the star (which I got from mortals) and a bull's skull in the middle of the star and the cross.

The right side of the star contains a book (full of potions and magic spells), a cup (for rituals), a bowl of water (again, rituals), a bunch of statues of so-called "demons" and "angels" (and that sorta things), bottles of already made potions (cause I am that good), and a big pot where I brew all the stuff. Of course it has candles as well. I mean, would it really be an altar without candles?

The left side includes a plate of cupcakes (what, magic can drain your energy, and food helps with everything, not just magic), a bowl of salt (for protection...not that I need it), more statues,  a bunch of daggers (for protection), my very own set of tarot cards (just cause I like them), and of course candles.

Around the room a lot of crystals are spread so they can absorb the good and bad energy (so I can later use them in a fight....if I get in one). The whole room is quite dim and can be quite scary for those who don't know me or my powers. Hecate once entered and even she was shocked (but secretly proud).

I like to have a few snakes in there as well. I like snakes. They are such beautiful creatures. They have scales instead of skin and that makes them so beautiful. They are skilled and just so amazing. I have a few of them.

Kira, is a beautiful green one. She likes to be amongst trees and scare the other Gods. There is also Jonathan, who's a beautiful sand-like cobra. I have Noora, who is a white snow-like snake with green eyes. So beautiful.

There are also Elias (a big fat python), Hugo (another green one), Solis (who is a beautiful yellow snake with white spots there and then over his scales).

I even have some of the rarest snake in the world. They are: Maria (she's a Saharan Horned Viper), Eileen (Malagasy Leaf-Nosed snake, the Gods hate her the most cause she always scares them, but she likes Martha and George so Hermes is safe from her scares), Louis (he's a Elephant Trunk snake, he likes the little lake that is right next to my building), Dani (a Long-Nosed Viper, so beautiful).

There is also Rachele (a Tiger Keeiback one), Draco (a dark Dragon snake, so of course I had to name him that, it was quite hard finding him) and Blake (a red Rhinoceros Viper, he is so colourful and beautiful) who likes to be by my side most of the time.

They are all my little children. I could never pick a favourite (but if I had to, it would be Blake). I love it when they protect the altar so no one can come in. They also like each other (so there has been no fights and battles).

Some were quite hard to catch to be honest. Especially those who were so small. Feeding them isn't a problem either. I learned a few spells to summon mice and frogs and that kinda stuff. From time to time I send them to the mortal world to go hunt themselves. Oh they love that.

I had a snake once that's wasn't so accepted by the others so I let them fight it off. But one against twelve of them wasn't quite an interesting fight, but they still enjoyed it. That was before I got Draco. He was the last to join the family. And now I have thirteen snakes.

And they are my kids. My family. My loved ones. And together we will avenge my mother.
