Chapter Five: Lost Somewhere

"Are we there yet?"

"No"

"Why not?"

"Because it takes more than five minutes to get there"

"We've been walking for five minutes?!"

"Correction....I have been walking for five minutes. You only complained"

"Ha. Told you, you are annoying"

"Shut up Jonathan!"

"You don't tell ME what to do!"

"Guys, guys, can we please not fight and just enjoy this amazing view?"

No, I am not crazy. I am taking to my snakes (you know, the ones I took with me). Yes, they can talk (thanks to me of course), or rather, I can just understand them. It's like a secret language that only those, gifted by Hecate herself posses.

Just like some Aphrodite kids can charmspeak, or some of Hephaestus can survive fire kisses. Like that Valdez kid (I actually like him, he's funny).

I haven't even gotten down the mountain and my three companions are already pissing me of.

For snakes, they have zero filter. They just say what comes to their minds and usually it's something weird. I have grown used to it, but most of the time it's annoying.

Jonathan is the sassy one. He invades conversations he isn't even a part of, and always says something sarcastic or rude. He doesn't really know the difference between it, so he thinks he's being nice (in a weird twisted way).

Draco is quiet most of the time. He likes to stay in his own mind and find out the most he can about a situation before he indulges in it. He is one of the smartest snakes of mine.

Blake on the other hand never shuts up. He always says what he thinks and usually it's something stupid and pointless. But he is the most dangerous of the three.

You see, all of them have two sides. The everyday one, and the battle one. And because of the latter, I chose them to go alongside me on this mission.

Jonathan is very quiet and fast. He attacks so quietly, the victim doesn't even know what hit them. Draco likes to manipulate his pray. He makes them believe he won't harm them, and when they least expect it....BAM. Blake, on the other hand, is vicious. He gives zero fucks about who or what his pray is. He attacks everything and everyone. And leaves nothing behind.

So the three don't look like a good combination to fight alongside with, but when it comes to shedding blood and killing, they won't hesitate.

As I walk down the mountain, I can see every rock, every flower, every piece of the mountain that makes it so unique.

Okay, I know what you're thinking. You know Olympus as being on the top of Empire State Building. And it is there. So why am I mentioning this mountain?

Well, you see, I didn't tell you the whole truth.

Right after Zeus told me, I must leave Olympus, he gave me only a few minutes to pack. I took all the necessary things and had to meet him (also, I was strictly told not to bring any of the snakes with me, but as you may know, I did it anyway).

He transfered me to the top of some mountain, so I wouldn't just start in New York (for some reason he doesn't want me there), but had to get there myself.

So I am on some mountain, somewhere on this planet. I am not even sure I am in America. I might be in Europe. I have never been there (or anywhere really) so that might not be so bad.

"Why don't you just fly down or something? Aren't you a witch?"

"No, I am not. And I can't do that. I'm not a shape shifter"

"But you are Zeus's daughter"

"So?"

"So. The boy, his kid. He can fly. Why can't you?"

"Because he never wanted me to have HIS powers"

"So, he wanted you to have powers, but not HIS?"

"Oh, no. He wanted me dead"

And then silence falls down on us. The reality of our situation sinks in, and suddenly, this trip isn't such a positive thing.

"Awkward"

"Shut up, Blake. She's clearly upset"

"I'm not upset"

"That's what upset people say"

"Yeah, but I am not human"

"True that"

And there is silence, yet again. It has never been awkward talking to my snakes. It's quite easy actually. They never try to manipulate my emotions, or make me say or do things I don't wan't to. They are just there to listen. And when it comes to that, they really pull through.

No matter how annoying they can be, they are always there for me. No matter what. And that's why I love these snakes more than anything.

"Ummm....I don't mean to interrupt your deep thinking, but someone is approaching us"

I look up, and there truly is someone. It is a hiker (that actually looks like he is here for the mountain) with a large backpack.

The second he sees me he puts a smile on his face (a fake one, I notice) to greet me. But it disappears the moment he sees my outfit.

Of course, Zeus had to pick a mountain as a dropping point. Couldn't he drop me in the middle of Los Angeles or something? I look like I just came from a party and you don't really see many people wearing that type of clothes on a mountain.

"Are you lost?" I can't really blame him for asking me that. If I saw someone dressed the way I am (again, on a mountain), that would be the first question I would ask as well.

"No. Actually a little bit. I was on a party yesterday and my friends and I went for a drive and when I woke up I was on this mountain. Could you tell me where exactly am I?"

Oh, another thing about me. I am a professional liar (self proclaimed title). I can lie my way out of every situation I fall into. Because mortals are so easy to deceive, I can get away with practically anything.

And no, this isn't the first time I met a mortal. I have been to their world a few times, and I might have caused some mischief (and that's why Zeus wants me to stay away form humans).

"Ummm...yeah sure. We're a few hours away from Los Angeles actually. Do you need me to drive you? My car is parked down there?" He points to the bottom of the mountain.

You know what. Scratch what I said earlier. Zeus actually transported me to Los Angeles?! He just made my whole mission easier.

Yes, I am aware that he did that only to keep me away from Mount Olympus, but he actually helped me a lot.

"No. But thanks for your kindness. I think I will be able to get some help. Thanks anyway"

Maybe, this trip won't be so long and dangerous after all.
