18: Ramen

It is a bright day. Birds are chirping, refreshing breezes are blowing and the mood of the day is enlightened and delightful. Especially for Jungkook.

It is not something very special today, but Jungkook just feels good, as if he will have a nice day today.

He slips down his bed, steadily walking out of his room to go to the bathroom when he hears a high-pitched, girly squeal.

Immediately, his brows furrow and his forehead creases. His lips involuntarily pout and curiosity rushes into him like a big herd of buffaloes.

He slowly walks over to where the squeal came from, gulping down a lump of his own saliva.

"Kim Taehyung!" The same voice screams raucously again, startling Jungkook.

"Stop shouting you dipshit!" Another voice — comparatively much deeper — yells. "My ears will die due to that!"

It is when Jungkook reaches the kitchen, his eye widen and he realises what the real scene is.

It is still confusing, but Jungkook is sure enough that Jimin is fuming so much that literally smoke is blowing out of his ears. The veins of Jimin's neck are popping out and his shoulders are moving up and down due to his heavy breathing.

Taehyung on the other hand, is fidgeting with the microwave. A lose black t-shirt hangs over his body and when Jungkook reaches closer, he gets note of the frown on Taehyung's face.

Walking over to Jimin in a scared and timid way, Jungkook asks, "What happened?"

Jimin turns around, and exasperated sigh exiting his mouth. He rolls his eyes, huffs once more and then replies, "Somebody damaged the microwave."

Jimin eyes Taehyung from head to toe, his teeth making a clicking sound as he grits his teeth.

Taehyung returns the same look, narrowing his gaze at Jimin. His eyebrows which were hidden beneath his beautiful blonde hair, now appear from behind the bangs of his chair and incline themselves as Taehyung furrows.

Thud!

The microwave blasts and out comes smoke in strands. The strands of smoke travel in various directions as they dissolve into the air.

Jungkook blinks a few times, processing the situation. He gulps, clearing his throat after it. Jungkook purses his lips, then finally speaks, "How did this happen?"

Jimin huffs again, closing his eyes shut as he sharply inhales.

"I told Taehyung to cook the ramen our neighbour gave us and he put the steel box into the microwave." Jimin says, "It exploded inside and now we lack a microwave. Thanks to Taehyung." He finishes by sending a glare to Taehyung.

"I thought I could heat the ramen like we do for the ready-made ones!" Taehyung protests.

"Are you a complete idiot?" Jimin snorts in incredulity. "We don't heat a steel box in a microwave!"

"And we don't put the ready-made ramen in the microwave either! We pour hot water into it!" Jimin adds on.

Jungkook chuckles, lowering his head.

"Whatever." Taehyung bluntly says. "I'll go get some more ramen."

"We'll come along." Jimin insists.

Taehyung looks at Jungkook, asking him whether he would like to join or not. Jungkook, in return, nods and tosses a smile.

"Okay." Taehyung says.

"Taehyung stop flirting!" Jimin yells at his friend, eyes narrowed and forehead creased.

Jungkook starts giggling, his two front teeth popping out like a bunny's. Jimin turns towards Jungkook, an immediate smile forming on his lips.

"Kim Taehyung! Come here this instant!" Jimin shouts again, heaving a sigh.

Taehyung heaves a sigh, rolling his eyes irritably. He shoots a glare to Jimin before speaking to the girl at the counter, "Keep this card of mine, just in case you feel lonely."

Taehyung winks at the cashier — who stands at the counter with a baffled face — and heads out of the store. He stops right in front of a furious Jimin and sighs.

"You are loathsome, you know?" Taehyung twists his face.

"And you are randy." Jimin bluntly says. "Now c'mon. Let's go."

"Ah!" Taehyung exhales, "–this is going to be yummy." He claps his hands.

Jimin smiles and settles himself next to the sprawled out Taehyung. Jungkook comes in giggling.

Taehyung takes the bought food into a large plate and starts eating as if he hasn't eaten for ages. The red curry rolls down the corner of his mouth which he licks up.

"My god!" Jimin starts, "I am seeing an animal eat." He chuckles.

"Shut up and let me eat!" Taehyung manages to say amidst his stuffed-with-food mouth.

Jungkook, however, stops when he brings himself a plate and Jimin puts some food on his plate.

"What's wrong?" Jimin asks.

"My hyung use to buy me this too." Jungkook says, in a sombre manner.

Have I gone mad?
I wrote a chapter based on ramen. What am I doing? I am out of ideas and I have one-shot ideas in my mind which I'm using here. What arrant nonsense!

Yet, I hope you all keep reading just as you are. I promise to go ahead with the plot.
I will start working on revealing and solving the main mystery of this story.
