A is for "Accident"

It was a typical day in the Boar Hat with the Sins, and Elizabeth. Elizabeth was getting ready for her shift that started in 3 hours (the Boar Hat opens 2 hours before she starts her shift).

Diane was also getting ready as her shift was 1 hour before Elizabeth's shift and today she only had to do 2 hours. She was going to the Fairy King's Forest with King so that they could visit Elaine and hopefully bring her back with them. That's when Elizabeth agreed to take over the 1 hour left of her shift before she started her 3 hours.

"Hey Elizabeth. Are you sure about taking over Diane's leftover shift?" Said a voice creeping in on her while she was dressing up which made her face fluster.

"Y-yes Sir Meliodas, may I ask why?"

"Well, it is four hours and usually you only do two or three." He said as he was taking notes on her body which made her fluster even more.

"I can handle four. Don't worry about me I'll be fine." She says smiling faintly.

She had finished dressing up and went to open the door.

"If it gets too out of hand, give me a shout and I'll be right there."

She nodded, "Okay."

3 hours later on Elizabeth's last hour of work~~~~~~~~~~~~

Wow. I've really been getting better at being a waitress. She thinks, smiling to herself. I haven't tripped a single time since I started my shift. Hold on Elizabeth dont jinx it!

There was a floorboard sticking up and Elizabeth tripped. Spilling food and drinks all over a customer. Aw man..

"You whore!" "You did that on purpose!" An intimidating man spat.

"I-I'm really sorry Sir..It was an accident h-honestly."

Ban, Meliodas and the others looked over to see Elizabeth on the floor. They aborted their conversations.

"I don't believe your lies!" "I just got this top and you've ruined it, you bitch!"

Instead of crying, Elizabeh stood up with all her might, fighting back her tears. "No Sir. I apologise for my clumsiness but it was an accident." She didn't stutter.

He lifted his hand, and before Elizabeth could process it, he had slapped her. Hard. Hard enough she landed straight back on the floor.

Meliodas struggled to hold back his urge to kill the man. His demon mark, slowly appearing.

"Woah there Captain. How 'bout you go calm down before we lose some customers and potentially our lives." Ban ushered Meliodas to go and calm down. His demon mark disappeared making Ban visibly relax.

Meliodas sighs. "Listen I don't appreciate what you've done to my best waitress. But if I happen to see you at this tavern ever again, the punishment is death. Out!" Meliodas whispered-yelled into his ear. And just like that he was gone.

Elizabeth was left on the floor, her bangs covering her face so it was hard to see her expression. She stood up wiping off all the dirt on her, and walked out the back door slamming it behind her.

"Big Sis!" Merlin called trying to go out and help her. Stopping her, was none other than Meliodas.

"Leave her. She just needs a few minutes to calm down."

Merlin sighed.

After a few moments of clearing out the place, Meliodas went out and saw Elizabeth sitting on a branch.

"You know, sitting up there I get a better view of your panties." He says smirking.

Elizabeth was startled and jumped down, Meliodas catching her.

"It was an accident. I didn't do it on purpose.."

"I understand, but why didn't you call me? I would've dealt with it much better." He asks, putting her down.

"I wonder what your perception of 'better' is, Sir Meliodas." Elizabeth slightly laughed. Forgetting how much her face hurt, she winced.

"Some people are just idiots like that." He said before looking at the stars. "You're our best waitress, whether you trip and fall. What would we ever do without you?"

She just smiled. "Once again my clumsiness has failed me." She whispered, not loud enough for Meliodas to hear though.

"Shouldn't we head in?" "You still need to change your clothes." He said rather seductively, which made Elizabeth's face turn crimson. They stood up and went in.

Preview of the next chapter: Elizabeth  has recently experienced a break up from an abusive relationship. She's still trying to move on, when somebody new makes it easier for her.
