It was late at night and our trio was fast asleep, when suddenly there came a deafening crash at the door. "Dean open up!" Peregrine, droopy eyed and somewhat off,  flicked open her switchblade. "Hello." "It's John Winchester. Open this door!" She sighed angrily and threw open the door. "Hello Mr. Winchester, the boys are sleeping can I help you?" The man before her grit his teeth. "Wake them up." She narrowed her eyes but obeyed. Shaking the boys from slumber, she hoped they wouldn't wake up. "What? Are you okay?" Dean shot up and grasped her arm. She kissed his forehead gently, "Your dad is here." "What?" He stood and looked at his father. John has a steely look in his eyes and nodded at Dean. "Peregrine, your father died... It wasn't a ghoul, it was a Wraith. We didn't stand a chance." The normally loving, gentle girl hardened. "Yes, you did. Knowing him he was drunk and trying to get laid." John nodded gruffly, "Maybe so but, he was your father and you should show him some respect." Peregrine's eyes hardened. "He may have been my father but he was never a dad to me. Do you know why he sent me here? He didn't want me to 'cramp his style'." Her lips shrunk back into a sharp line. As John's face contorted in anger, Dean seemed to think he was going to hurt her. "Dad, Sammy and I will go pack." He said stepping in front of Peregrine. "Wait!" John's eyes narrowed at the girl grasping his sons shirt, but he said nothing. "I don't want to lose you." She whispered gently, tears forming in her eyes. Sammy, a tired little kid simply mumbled. "Don't worry Peri, we'll see you soon." He gripped her hand gently and wiped at his eyes with a yawn. "Dean..." The girl was begging now, as tears fell freely from her eyes Dean's eyes hardened. "We have a good run babe, it can't last forever." He said gruffly as he shoved her away. She opened her mouth to speak but stopped herself, she stumbled into the bathroom tears still streaming down her face. "Don't go..." She managed to squeak out after the door closed, she knew that it didn't matter, John was taking her family away and she couldn't stop him. That is until Sammy actually woke up, "We can't leave her!" She heard through the door, only to be followed by John pulling Sam out to the car. Then came another knock, it was softer than the one that woke her but it scared her nonetheless. "Can I come in?" Dean breathed against the door. She nodded before realizing he couldn't see her, "yeah."  It came out on a hoarse cry. "Hey, Sammy's in the car we're leaving ." "Okay, bye." She sniffed looking away. "Come on don't be like that. I came to say a real goodbye." Peregrine turned around, intrigued only to see Dean pop a tik tac. "Come here," He said holding out his hand, tentatively she took it. He pulled her in close and in a low voice that ruffled her hair he said, "I'm gonna miss you, like a lot." She simply nodded into his chest. He gripped her chin, softly tilting her face upward. Their lips collided and  hot tears started racing down Dean's cheeks. They heard John call for Dean and stood in silence. Her hands tightened their grip on his shirt. "Don't go." She whispered, her voice tight with worry. "I have to." "Why? I could get a job, we could have a life!" She cried holding him in place. "What about Sammy? I can't get custody of him and I won't leave him alone with him." Dean spat, causing her to step back just enough for him to slip past her. "Dean.." her voice broke and so did she.  She was alone.
