"Welcome, son." He pat on my back.

"Attention, I'd like to introduce to everyone, my son, Winson Wesley. From today onwards, he's your boss. Okay! You can continue with whaf you're doing." I look around the office. It's huge, than the one I used to have.

"So, Jossyln Rivera. Win, she's your assistant and, Miss Rivera, you may leave now." She smiled at me before she closed the door. "Enough about her, let's get back to business, Winson. And, stop drooling over her."

****

"Bright?" I have another week off from work. I've never had my holiday pass being used before. Mum is sick and it seems like I'm the only one that's going to take care of her. "Yeah, I just pass by... Thought, I can come over to see my fiancée?"

"Sure, fiancé."

"It's not like, we're going there, don't we?" We've been talking bout this, the engagement. We've been going back and forth. When I start to tell him, I want to be more than bf-gf relationship, he's going to avoid the topic and change it.

"You, you really want us to stay like this? Bright, someday, I want to settle down. I want to have kids and, my mum isn't going to get any younger... So do us. I want to share this kind of moment with her as well. I know, your family probably don't want us to be together... "

"Hayla, the thought of us, having little version of us, laughing while running at the backyard, that's how I imagine my life would be with you in the future. It's just I'm not ready yet, Hayla. I'm not scared of commitment, if that's what you think."

"It's okay. I understand." To be honest, I want to vent and tell him, it  sounds like an excuse. He shut himself off  and, it's like he's doing that to defend himself from me. Without him realised, he's actually building his wall again and, I'm stuck in between. Guess I'll never be sure.

"Thank you." It does makes me feel disappointed in him. He never, happy when I bring this up. He rather look sad or, in a way I can't read his expression. Bright's phone screen lights up. He reply the text and shove it back into his pocket before I get to see his reply. Why is he suddenly being secretive?"Who's that?" His eyes widen, with his lips saying 'huh'. He looks surprised as hell.

"You look like you've seen a ghost."

"My mum." He gives me a short reply. That's all. No reasons why she text. Nothing. "Why?"

"Hayla, I told you, it's my mum. Why do you care? Do I really need to tell you every single conservations I have with her??"

"Of course, no.... It's up to you, whether to tell me or no. Right, it's your mum. Give me the phone."He insisted. He throw the phone across the room."Bright!!" He just stand there without trying to get the phone. I pick it up and the screen is already crack.

He's right, it's her mum. But, the text history says otherwise. "So, you're still texting her?" He glanced at me, as he murmured something. "Jossyln? What?? No... Hayla, what's wrong with you?" He said. Is it my fault for asking him? I'm supposed to know too. "What's wrong with me? No, it's you, Bright. You've gone like months and, acting all weird. Jossyln showed up all of sudden and you? God, how I wish I can tell you without crying in front of you... My life, wasn't the same after you came into my life. But, it went back like before, and, I guess I belong to hell. Shit will never gets easier for me... Bright, it feels like you're, I don't know you, anymore.... "

"Is it because of Win? That Winson dude."

"He's not involves in this. It's just us." He lets a small laugh.

"Us? Hayla-

I pushed him outta room. I was expecting him to do the same thing. He keeps yelling, asking me to let him in. "Hayla. Open the damn door!" I don't. Yes, I hear him. Clearly, what he's saying behind the door. Why do I start to feel this is a one sided communication? Is this how our relationship really are??

"Bright, leave. We'll talk when we're both cool off."

"Okay."
