Teresa's POV

Brad and Stella together. The gross image of them mingling, intertwining arms around each other, snogging burned my nerve cells in jealousy, which resulted in me to check Brad's door every time in anticipation to see if Stella had left or not. But she never did.

"I should have faith in Brad. He'll never do any such act." An unreasonable fidelity that I had towards Brad assured me although I very well knew this delicate, baseless allegiance is as frail as glass, any time could be shattered into smithereens.

From dusk till dawn, my eyes lingered at Brad's door, lying in wait for a silhouette that I never came across that night.

Stella was there the whole night, maybe inside Brad's house, maybe with Brad.

"How come you're still thinking about this, Teresa?" I brought my off-course self back to face the reality. Every time I think of brad, I'm reminded of the last night's event and deep in the corner of my heart I felt cheated. C'mon Teresa shake it off. To keep my mind distracted I played "shake It off" by Taylor Swift

Cause the players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off
Heartbreakers gonna break, break, break, break, break
And the fakers gonna fake, fake, fake, fake, fake
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake

I shake it off, I shake it off

Tears that were threatening me all day came in a cloudburst, flowing uncontrollably down my cheekbones

"Be a brave girl," I boosted up my spirits. Nothing happened between them. This is just your premonition.

Departing from the college campus, to avoid running into anyone, not Brad the least, with this wailing face, I strolled on the curb.

"Hey, Muffin!" I heard a distant call and recognized it to be Brad. How come he always finds me ? Are we the poles of a magnet that we can't be separated?

Even though my head was commanding me not to pay heed to his calls, my heart was crying on the inside to rebel against my head for Brad. As if by instinct, I turned around, my tear-smeared of blurry eyes made a vision of super handsome Brad.

The next moment we were running towards each other.

In a split second, I felt sharp pain in my hips that numbed my brain, and was instinctively thrown on the curb on the other side of the road.

My vision darkened and after tasting the coppery blood in my mouth I fainted.

"Teresa, muffin" were the last words I heard.

"I love you, Brad. I have been loving you as long as I remember " I traced Brad's outlines on his face and confessed, unsure of my lifespan.

Brad was saying something inaudible till the time I heaved my last breath.

Author's POV

Teresa was walking on the curb, while the jittery Brad trailed along her on the other side of the road.

He could see her palms brought to her cheeks frequently.

"Why was she crying?" Brad thought

He called her, and Teresa turned towards him.

An SUV was storming towards Teresa and she hadn't seen it. In an attempt to save her, he ran for her.

Had it not been for Brad, Teresa would have run by the vehicle.

However, she was still slightly hit by the car since Brad was a tad in rescuing her.

Brad felt as if it were the last time him seeing Teresa.

"Did it have to end like this were not meant to live together?" Brad cried out as he pulled Teresa limp body close to him for the last time. Regretting that he could not have told her the three magical words, he yelled Teresa's name, who opened her eyes as if she gathered the rest of her strength for this, and after confessing to Brad, she closed her eyes for one final time.

Brad's POV

"After all these time, she loved me too" Brad was elated and torn apart at the same time.

"How come I never knew Teresa about your feelings ?"I thought I was talking to her, but I knew I was talking to her limp body. I was talking to myself.

"I love you too, Muffin.' I wish I could tell this to you earlier.
