Darkness. That's all Amelia could see. Ringing. That's all she could hear.
"Amelia my God.", Samuel, her brother exclaimed as he saw his little sister lying on the floor, surrounded by flames and broken glass, he ran over to her. A look to his left he could see his friends Jaelyn and Harry recovering from the incident that just happened and coughing from the smoke. Amelia started to come around, also coughing."Did it work?"
"Are they gone?" Amelia questioned Sam.
"Oh yeah! Your crazy ass Idea scared them off alright" Sam laughed. Jaelyn picked herself up and moved over to the window to make sure they had gone."Maybe next time you decide to set off a dam bomb Amelia, you could give us some warning?" Harry chimed in jokingly.
"If I gave you guys a warning, I would have given the people who were trying to kill us a warning also?" Amelia responded back chuckling, astounded that her plan had actually worked. She started looking around the library. Amelia and Sam lived in a pretty big house, their father, Michael Williams, was the definition of entitled upper class, white male, who had everything handed down to him; He wasn't the worst Father in the world, always supported them financially, but never really supported them emotionally especially within the last 7 years ever since his wife, Marlene, had went missing (assumed dead). The two siblings never really entered this room as the library was Marlene's favourite room in the house, she spent half her time reading and researching for her job, and the other half was spent loving and caring for her two children. Sam and Amelia missed her terribly.
Sam looked around and his sister and friends, just now realising the mess they seemed to have gotten themselves into.
"So." "What the hell do we now?" Sam asked the group nervouslyEARLIER THAT DAY
"Well Dad's finally lost his mind..." Amelia told Sam coming into the kitchen. She picked an apple up from the fruit ball and began snacking on it.
"Oh god the hell did he do now" Sam asked
"He just had the worst breakdown, I have ever seen but it was the same mumblings about 'Adiya'- whatever or whoever the hell that is. Sofia had to give him a sedative" Amelia replied. A few months after his wife went missing, Mr Williams locked himself in his study, every day for years to do God knows what, the past year his mental health had been depleting he often had delusions, they had gotten so bad Michael needed to have nurses brought in to take care of him. His main Nurse Sofia, entered the room"I think..." she started saying but trailed off.
"You think?" Sam questioned."I think it is time that your father moved into a mental health institute or a care home" Sofia continued. Sam and Amelia looked at each other, even though they had a complicated relationship, they did care for their Father, but they knew it was the right thing to do, even though they knew he would object.
"When?" Amelia asked.
"Today, if possible." Sofia answered. Amelia and Sam nodded. "Okay then, I will start making the preparations."TWO HOURS
Amelia and Sam waved goodbye to their Father even though he was still sedated. They had the whole mansion to themselves now, no Father to look after. Amelia walked off to her room, she wasn't overly in the mood to discuss her father or anything and Sam realised that. As she was walking to her room, she glanced at her Father's study. She stopped. She had always wondered what was in there, what was he so obsessed with? What had he been doing there all these years? Amelia thought to herself. She found herself walking to the door of the study, it was unlocked... does she dare go in? All these questions she constantly asked herself she could find out right not. She turned the handle and opened the door slowly in case she wasn't ready to know and back out- but she didn't. She walked in the room, the first thing she noticed was how messy it was, pages and books everywhere, all over the floor, desks, windowsills and chairs, basically anywhere but the bookshelf. Amelia went over to the desk and picked up a diary."Hold on a minute, this is mums work" she said out loud to herself. She began flicking through the other books and pages.
"oh my god!" she exclaimed.
"SAM!" she yelled at the top her lungs.
