N O T EThis short story and concept was one I'd thought up on a whim a while ago and pondered over sporadically since then. That being said, many of the scenes came pretty easily to me and I managed to finish this faster than anticipated.
I'd call this the most experimental of all my works (aka unpublished work-in-progresses, as I only have one published story at the moment) because not only is it written in third person and past tense, but it very mildly touches subjects I'm reluctant to broach.

Landon Porter had spent his last two years of high school focused on his studies and laying low under the radar, especially when it came to the ever popular Via Crestfield. He'd learned to admire from a distance.
However a chance encounter with Via had Landon stretched an invitation into her world, into a permanent spot in her circle of friends or maybe even into a spot for something more. Eight times more he watches Via Crestfield's drink get stronger and stronger before him and finally, he decides to intervene on the ninth.
