What?!

*Kyle's POV*

I didn't like the fact that Leena had a childhood best friend who was really close to her.

But then, I also wasn't happy with the fact that Jennie came here. I wasn't extremely happy seeing her which I thought I would be.

As Ryan, Leena and I walked ahead....we came across an ice cream shop when little Kia started giggling and squirming to get to the shop.

"Aww! You wanna have ice cream, little one?!" Leena asked Kia.

Even though Kia probably didn't understand what Leena told, she gave a toothless smile to Leena and stretched her hands to come to her.

"Come on!" Leena said as she took Kia from Ryan and turned to us both.

"You guys coming?" She asked us.

Ryan told her, "No Leena, I just had dinner. You know my drill. I don't do desserts!"

"Oh, you're still on that diet, aren't you?!" Leena asked, her eyes wide.

"I kind of am." Ryan replied giving a sheepish smile and scratching his neck, something most guys did when they are nervous or had been caught.

"You aren't gonna listen to me even if I give you a three hour lecture! Anyways, um-uhh...Kyle, do you wanna come?" She asked, turning to me hesitantly.

"Uh..no Leena...I'll stay here with Ryan. You guys go ahead and also, remember! For Kia-"

"A mini cup with very little topping of chocolate syrup and sprinkles because she's too jumpy after sugar consumption. Yes Kyle, I know." She said smiling.

I was stunned at how much she knew about Kia. I saw her back as she went into the shop with little Kia in her hands.

"She loves you." Said Ryan suddenly.

"What?!" I said alarmingly.

"You heard me."

"B-but..that's practically impossible. We-"

He cut me off by saying, "Being her best friend, I know everything about her. And....I also know that something is wrong with your relationship." He said cautiously.

"What? Why do you say that?" I asked, getting a bit worked up. How can this unknown person just wander into our personal life and 'claim' that there's something wrong with our relationship?!

"Because every time she looks at you, I can sense that something is stopping that love she wants to show in her eyes. Instead, she just covers it up with a blank look. Her eyes look dim." He said with his lips in a thin line. As he said this, his eyes looked distant....as if he was reminded of a memory in the past.

"The thing I lov-....um-m I mean like about Leena is her hopeful eyes and her ideology towards life. She knows that everything isn't rainbows and unicorns. But at the same time, she also tries her best to take all the colorful things, life has to offer." He said with a glint in his eyes. That glint was very similar to the glint I had seen in Leena's eye when she touched my forehead that morning.

As I listened and absorbed what he said, my mind still lingered on the little slip he made.

'The thing I lov-'

He was gonna say love. I was shocked beyond my guts. Is it possible that...?

Oh! Come on! That's not possible! It could've just been a classic slip of tongue!

"Do you love her?" I asked, dreading the answer that was to be followed.
