"Close the door behind you," Hotch ordered

"Close the door behind you," Hotch ordered.

Lilith closed the door and stood in front of his desk when he sat down. "Why did you call me to your office sir," she asked.

"Please take a seat."

"I'd prefer to stand."

Hotch looked at her. "I've given it some thought and I don't know much about you. Your file is one page and full of missing pieces. Other than your high school and college transcripts and diplomas there's not much else. The CIA, Interpol, and FBI don't know much and then I dig in hit with classified files."

Lilith said, "You get one question. Chose well."

Hotch thought for a moment and then asked, "Who is 'him'? The other day you mentioned a man."

"He is the reason I crossed paths with David Rossi and Jason Gideon at the age of ten. Of course I didn't try to remind Agent Rossi that we had met before. After all it was sixteen years ago. I doubt he'd remember me. He is who controlled me for years and trained me to become a killer. I don't know his name other than an alias. What I do know is he ultimately abandoned me in the end." Lilith paused. "Is that all sir?"

"I would also like to apologize for my actions. In the future I will be more cautious with my actions. It was unprofessional of me and I would like to take responsibility," Hotch said.

Lilith looked at him with a fine tooth comb. Analyzed all of those micro expressions and intonation. She wanted to know if there was any authenticity to his apology. People could be very convincing liars when they want to be. But the genuine tone in his voice told her that he did feel bad for his actions. Of course she couldn't exactly tell just how badly he felt. Human nature was extremely complex and hard to decipher.

"If that is all sir I will be taking my leave," Lilith told him.

Hotch was perplex. "Does this mean you forgive me?"

Lilith replied, "It means I will take it into consideration. Is that all?"

"Yes that is all, you are dismissed Rogers," Hotch sighed. He didn't understand her at all. Just when he thought that he had a semblance of an idea of who she was it always seemed like he was wrong. She was always constantly changing and evolving. He couldn't get an accurate reading on her no matter how hard he tried.

Lilith went back to her desk where she immediately grabbed her coffee and drank it. She didn't notice that Reid, Morgan, and JJ were looking at her. If she would have noticed she would have seen that they had Reid's stack off books and food.

"Wheels up in 30," Hotch said as he emerged from his office.

Gideon left his with his go bag slung over his shoulder. "Let's move it, we have a case to discuss."

The team scattered and made their way to the airstrip. Lilith remained silent as she sat in the back seat with Reid who shifted uncomfortably at the lack of leg space. Her silence went unnoticed by everyone but Aaron Hotchner who knew it was just an act. After all she had information he wanted and she wasn't about to give him anything that he didn't earn. Before she knew it the team was already boarding their plane.
