i'm waiting for your message
while trying to move on

i do not want to make up excuses
or reasons why you won't call

i know that in reality
it probably is not a big deal

but you were my last kiss
before the pandemic hit

you must've been going out
everything in your town has opened up

and you probably have forgotten
about that night in the summer past

i hate that i'm still waiting
for your message or your call

i hate that i think about you
while trying to move on
