~Aalyah's P.O.V.~

Once again I'm babysitting for extra cash because my shitty job doesn't pay enough. See, I'm 18 and a loser because when I was in high school my Mom died in a car crash leaving my Dad and I to fend for the family. After about a few weeks of drinking he left us in the middle of the night without a note or anything. Seeing as I had no time for school and a job and I need to provide for my little sister, Aden Rae, I quit. All this started when I was 15.

Aden is the exact replica of my Mom. She's 17 and has long blonde hair and bright green eyes, she's about 5'7 and is a complete heart breaker. She's been working since 16 but I refuse to let her quit school so she has a part time job and we live in a little tiny 2 bedroom apartment that's dingy. It was the nicest we could afford with our salaries. It has all black and brown walls and we're working on buying furniture.

So far we have our bedrooms done and right now we're working on the kitchen. My room is painted bright blue with black carpeting. My bed set is wood painted black and my bed set it black with a bright blue comforter and my room is generally the same color scheme with blue accents. Aden's room is the EXACT opposite. She has always been more of a bright person.

She wanted her room to match her personality so I guess it fits. She painted her walls neon pink and neon yellow and her carpeting's white. Her blanket is pink with white stripes and the back pillows are white and the pillows for looks are yellow. And I know all this sounds obnoxious but it meshes really well. Now back to me, I have black "scene" hair and snake bites. I have a really pale complexion and more than once I've been called emo. I got my grandmother's height so I'm only 5'6.

I am currently working at a Denny's full time (Yeah, yeah, I'm a loser I know.) and babysitting for my friend, Kellin, on the side. He has a two year old daughter named Copeland. He had a daughter with his ex-wife, Katelynn, who cheated on him with one of his co-workers. He always gets caught with the late shift at the bank he works at so he needs someone to watch Copeland while he can't.

I think that Kellin and my best friend, Spencer, my gay best friend, are the only things that got me through these past few years. Spencer is the one who inspired me to get my own place and keep going. I've known him and Kellin since we were kids. I thought I liked Spencer until he came out sophmore year in high school. Ever since then we've been jointed at the hip.

Well anyway tonight I have plans with Kellin considering I haven't gone out in months. According to Kellin, Katelynn is going to pick up Copeland so she can have her weekend with her. She should be coming in half and hour. I flicked on the tv and the first show to come on was family guy. I watched it until I heard the doorbell ring .

I put Copeland into her carrier and walked over to the door and unlocked it and opened it to see Katelynn standing there. Even though Katelynn cheated on Kellin and made probably one of the worst decisions of her life I didn't hate her. I did despise her though. Kellin gave her everything and she threw it away like it meant nothing. At least she left him and didn't refuse to sign the papers.

We exchanged a few words before I handed Copeland over and shortly after she left Kellin got back. I heard the door unlock and Kellin ran up swiping me into his arms and spinning us around. "KEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLIIIIIIIINNNNNNN!" I yelled at the top of my lungs, laughing as we spun. He stopped spinning and I immediately fell to the ground. "God dammit, Kellin."

I mumbled as I stood up trying to regain my balance. I stopped short as I saw the hottest guy standing there next to Kellin wearing a tux. The breath hitched in my throat and I stumbled again.
