~Aaliyah’s P.O.V.~
“Oh umm… Hi… I’m Aaliyah. And you are?” I said awkwardly stumbling over my words. “Hey I’m Vic Fuentes.” He replied confidently. Kellin looked between us noticing the uneasiness between us. “So…um… are y’all ready to go to McKinnon’s Bar?” He asked trying to break the tension. “Sure” we said in unison.
We climbed into Vic’s car. It was silver 2000 BMW 323. Vic got into the driver’s side while Kellin jumped into the passenger side, leaving me stuck in the back. The ride to the bar was weird and uncomfortable with failure at a good conversation.
We arrived at the bar in about 20 minutes. “ I’m gonna go get us a pitcher of beer while you two can find a table.” Said Kellin before walking off to the bartender. “ Well where do you wanna go sit?” Vic said awkwardly gesturing to any empty booth. “ So how did you and Kellin meet? He’s never mentioned you before.” I asked trying to start a conversation.
“Oh… I started working at the bank and Kellin was assigned to teach me what was going on.” He responded sounding vaguely bored.
~ Vic’s POV~
She’s so cute when she is nervous. I didn’t mean to sound bored but her dark brown eyes distract me. I can’t possibly like her already…. I mean I just met her.
“ Sorry I took so long to get the drinks… What’d I miss?” Kellin said while taking a seat next to Aaliyah. “Just about you and the bank.” Aaliyah replied without missing a beat. Kellin looked at me and gave me a weird look before turning back to Aaliyah and asking her about how Copeland was. I tuned out and looked down at my phone to see a text from my whore ex girlfriend, Cara.
I groaned and shoved my phone back into my pocket, not feeling like dealing with her shit. “Isn’t that right, Vic?” I heard Kellin ask with a smirk on his face knowing he caught me spacing out. “Huh?” I asked. “We were just talking about how you’re in a band.” He replied. “Oh…um yeah. I am.” I said stumbling over my words since I had been spaced out. Aaliyah raised her eyebrows at me.
“Do you play anything?” she asked with a skeptical look on her face. “Oh yeah… I play rhythm guitar and lead vocals.” I replied slightly excited. “Do you play anything?” I replied hesitantly. “Oh yeah I play drums.” She replied without missing a beat. “ Oh yeah my younger brother Mike plays drums too.” I said happy now that we got a decent conversation going.
“ That’s awesome. My friend, Spencer, plays bass. Well speak of the devil and he shall appear.” She said mumbling the last part and pointing behind me with a grin on her face. I turned around to see a guy about 5’9 looking at Aaliyah with a grin on his face. She waved him over and he sat on my side of the booth.
“Who’s this hottie?” He said gesturing to me. I started laughing and Aaliyah facepalmed. He looked at the two of us with a weird look on his face. When Aaliyah caught her breath she barely got our the words, “He’s..not…gay!...Wait, are you?” she asked looking at me with a serious look on her face. I raised my eyebrows in shock and shook my head vigorously.
“Well that’s a shame…” Spencer trailed off hip bumping me. “Do you have a brother?” he asked. “Uh, yeah.” I said, not willing to admit he’s gay. “Is he gay?!” Spencer yelled. “Uh..yeah.” I said awkwardly with a blush rising to my cheeks. I looked down realizing Spencer had drinks all around. He was about to ask something but than he passed out.
