"Eating too much of that isn't really good for you."
"Says who?"
"Says the news. They say that stuff messes with your heart if you eat a lot of it."
"Are you talking about black licorice? Because this is strawberry-"
"All licorice kid."
You rolled your eyes, turning your head away as you nibbled on your two inch piece of friendly soft red licorice.
"Have you ever even had candy in your life, Barry? It's just licorice." You responded in a lightly sarcastic tone, staring out the window as various dark grey clouds were scattered across the skies for your viewing pleasure.
"You got any more?" Joseph, who was currently sitting on your left, looked at you in question.
"Huh? Yeah hold on." You put your remaining licorice in between your lips before proceeding to reach and open a side pocket on the right side of your black cargo pants. You proceeded to pull out a ziplock bag, containing uniform sizes of strawberry licorice. You somehow knew that your first mission would be an interesting one, but also due to details, it was gonna be a bit of a long ride. So you chose to pack a snack to pass the time.
"How much did you bring?" Barry questioned, staring at you from your right side, making you feel like the youngest child sitting in between two older brothers in the back seat of a car. Only instead, it was a helicopter.
"You'd be surprised to know that this is a snack sized amount." You watched Joseph take one before bringing the open bag over to the older man.
"Want some?" You offered, not wanting to be too rude to your superior by prohibiting him from your snack. It took him a moment before he reached into the bag, taking only one in a silent agreement. You smiled slightly, bringing the bag slowly over to your lap as Barry brought the candy to his mouth, keeping it there like one would with a cigar.
"Hey Chris?" You looked over towards the man sitting on the opposite side of Joseph, occupying himself by staring out the same large helicopter you had looked out of. His head turned to you, his grey looking eyes reflecting the dark gloomy colors of the night skies outside.
"Want some?" You leaned forward a little, extending your arm out to offer the open bag to him.
At first, he smiled slightly and raised a hand to decline. His actions made you frown a little, keeping the bag extended outwards still.
"Oh come on, please?" You insisted, motioning your head towards your right side partner. "Even Barry took one."
Your words made Chris huff out a chuckle, shaking his head as he proceeded to take the bag from your small hand. "Can't argue with that. Thanks (Y/N)."
You nodded and sat back again, resuming on your piece as Chris took two out of the bag, offering Jill one of the pieces. She politely declined with a smile, which left him to keeping the two pieces for himself. He turned to look over his shoulder, seeing Wesker sitting in the cockpit with his full attention towards the fog filled forests they were soon to enter. Chris decided to not bother him, figuring a man like him with his stern attitude wouldn't be the type of person to favor a rookie's strawberry licorice.
Especially after what the rookie had done to him. Chris amused himself with the thought as he looked at you, seeing you stare out the windows as the presence of fog began to make itself known from the outside.
He kind of found it strange still that a rookie, not to mention someone as young as you, would want to join the police force, especially the S.T.A.R.S task force. Of course, you weren't the only young rookie to join, but he just couldn't help but feel fascinated by your story as you arrived.
