"Richard??" You spoke out in major surprise, seeing the man in the middle of the waterlogged room hanging onto a set of metal rails with a tight grip and a frantic, pure panic look in his eyes.
He was waist deep in the cold chilly water you were forced to stand in alongside Chris, who didn't seem to mind it or even be concerned about at the moment. His main attention was on his friend, and how he managed to get down here to begin with. Rebecca wasn't with him, so he had to have come down here on his own.
"Richard!" Chris proceeding to walk along the metal water logged platform, unaware of what exactly the man was so worried about.
"Chris!" Richard cried out with heavy worry, immediately turning his head over to view something that only appeared to make him more afraid. Upon seeing where he was looking, you paused to catch a glimpse of something large and massive moving under water, the crooked fin sticking out like a sore thumb in a way that made you completely freeze.
"Chris, wait! Stop!" You cried out immediately, causing the man to stop in the middle of the metal platform. He looked over to you in question, which quickly made you realize how much of a huge mistake that was. In his position, he was completely oblivious to the massive underwater beast that had its eyes deadset on him.
"Chris! No!!" Richard threw himself away from the rails, Chris barely having the time to fully turn back around before the man lunged towards him, using all the strength he had to throw him backwards into the freezing waters with a huge splash. The incredibly massive shark lunged itself out of the water, its jaw wide open with rows upon rows of massive teeth. Richard's time to evade the blow was nonexistent, barely even giving you enough time to scream out in shock as the shark's jaws swallowed the man almost whole, its jaws clamping around his torso. The shark thrusted its head around, wildly splashing the waters in every direction possible, quickly staining the waters a cherry crimson. Their was faint movement in Richard's legs during all the thrashing, but it was impossible to delay the inevitable as the shark quickly descended back into the waters, leaving as fast as it arrived.
You stood silent in pure horror and shock, most of your upper body that was above water splattered in diluted blood. Chris quickly rose from the water near your feet, his clothes soaked to the bone with ripples of water falling down the sides of his face, but he didn't care. He grabbed onto the metal rails in front of him to settle himself, his attention directly towards the empty space in front of him where Richard once was. Red clouds swirled in the area where Richard once was, the man's body nowhere to be found.
"Richard..." He spoke his name, not in a yell or cry. He couldn't believe what had just happened, in just a few seconds. This couldn't be happening, not like this. Not another one of his close friends, dead and gone with nothing he could do about it, not even a way he could've properly saved them.
"C-Chris," you came forward fast, both your hands grabbing onto his left forearm and giving an immediate tug. His grip on the rail was as hard as steel, making you almost freak out as you tugged even harder, practically shaking his arm. "Chris!" You cried out again, quickly peering your head over to the right to see a similar looking black mass in the water, coming straight towards you. Followed by another not far from their companion similar in size.
"Come on, Chris! It's coming back!" You tugged again, making the man snap out of it almost immediately. He quickly caught the glimpse of the sharks swimming close towards the door where you arrived from, blocking you from your only potential exit. Quickly realizing that the both of you were in danger, he knew he had to get away from the sharks fast, the last thing he needed was you or him to get ripped away like Richard did.
"Come on!" Chris quickly let go of the rails, only to bring his hands to your shoulders. He turned you over towards the left, bringing you in front of him fast.
