Strength lies in differences,
Not in similarities.
There were five packs in our area. The names were based on the attributes of the pack members.
1. The Stalwart Pack.
Considering their name these guys were the eye candies. Jokes aside, this was the strongest pack and no one dared to mess with them. They were known to be stronger than the average werewolf because of the rigorous training they were subjected to at a very young age.
Although, they were exceptionaly 'hawwtt' I had heard that they kept the females under their thumbs and while some girls drooled at the very thought of joining this pack, I was disgusted by their misogynist culture.2. The Celestial Pack
These guys were the foresighted hunks. They were mystics who could predict the future by looking at the stars. Their predictions were hardly ever wrong and all packs approached them with their problems. They were the wealthiest pack without doubt, considering they could solve almost anything by looking at the stars, as long as a hefty amount was handed down. The females were more gifted in abilities than the males and must I add, extremely sly. I personally felt this pack was way too snobbish for their own good.3. The Amazonian Pack
Ever heard of the Amazonian women who lived in Asia minor? Just in case you haven't these gals were the daughters of a Greek God, Ares. Their main concern in life was going to war.
This pack was no different than those women. They had an alpha female, beta and delta. They had amazing fighting skills and were constantly sparring with The Stalwart Pack. It was rare for them to be mated to any male. Most of them were homosexuals. Their amazing strategies and calculated risks on the battlefield often made them emerge victorious. They were all for woman empowerment. You go girl!4. The Venus Pack
No. This has nothing to do with the planet.
Venus is the Roman name for the Goddess of Love. This pack was gifted in beauty and charm. Individuals of this pack were more feminine in nature. Even the males...and no, they were not gay, even though Lily sometimes told me that some of them would make very cute couples. This pack was more like a democracy, each person had a say in pack matters. There were female and male warriors and things were always flexible here. Through the generations we had had alpha males and females. And if you read anything I so tediously wrote about my mother and her beauty you would know by now that I belonged to this pack.5. The Sanguine Pack
If you have ever heard about the concept of 'Half Glass Full' which I am pretty sure you have, you are already half way to being a member of this pack. To gain full membership you just had to practice the concept and believe me, being positive is harder than you think. Take it from me.
These guys were those perfect students you see in class. The straight A graders, because confidence and positivity came easy to them. Having a tough day? Go to The Sanguine Pack and they will point out a million things in your day to be grateful about. All packs were pretty much peaceful, except of course, the Stalwarts and Amazons, who were constantly sparring. I was just waiting for the day when the Stalwart Alpha would be mated to an Amazon. The most clichèd romcom plot. A pity the moon goddess rarely played such games.
Matings were usually very obvious. To create a balance, the Stalwarts were always mated to females from the Venus pack. Females from our pack could be very submissive. So 'click', perfect match.
Whereas to balance the slyness of the Celestians, they were usually mated to the good natured optimists of The Sanguine Pack.
It was easy enough to find out one's mate. Once mates touched each other they got a small burn on the place of contact. That's why no matter what two werewolves were dealing in they always started with a handshake. And yes, that's after countless girls got burns on their faces.
Sad? Yeah, I know.
A.N-
Hey guys...
I am sorry I didn't keep my promise of introducing Blue's mate till now... I think I got carried away. I hope you liked this chapter though.
Now that you know the packs it will be easier to take you through the story.
