❝love (pronounced lʌv or luv)
feel deep affection for someone.
eg. she can't say love❞"What are you up to, Hunter?" called someone, and Hunter looked out his window to see Lucky.
"I was just about to invite my beautiful girlfriend over," he replied, and Lucky blushed.
It had been two weeks since Hunter and Lucky had decided to be more than friends. Their parents weren't aware yet, because Lucky was worried about how they'd react, so Hunter stayed quiet. He and Lilly were still talking, but unlike usual, Hunter didn't like her as any more than a friend. Lucky was enough for him. Heck, Lucky was more than enough for him.
"Well, I think she's on her way," said Lucky, closing her window. Hunter quickly swept everything under the bed and made his room look somewhat neat, before Lucky walked in, smilling. "Hey, Hunt."
"Hey," he said, pecking her on the lips quickly. "I wrote a song, wanna listen?"
Her eyes shined. "Of course!"
He sat down and fiddled with his recording system for a second. Then music began pouring out of it, and Lucky listened, enchanted.
"Anyway, you caught it, she's just staring at her future through a tinted glass,
It's more like a mirror shows her, all that she's made of, and what she never had,
I'm the one she calls when nothing's going right,
But if it were up to me, she'd never have another lonely night,
She's always dreaming of hearts and rockets,
She's gotta fall before she can fly, and I,
I wanna be the one she's falling for,
Just wanna play my part in it,
On every page that she writes,
Yeah, her life,
A story full of hearts and rockets..."
It ended by fading out, which signified to Lucky that it was a work in progress. "It's about the girl I used to like."
"Back in Louisiana, you mean? Lilly, right?" asked Lucky. She wasn't the jealous type- Hunter liked that about her. He had been hesitant to tell her that he used to have a crush on Lilly, but she wasn't even fazed.
"You're a guy, I'm a girl. I've had crushes before you, and so have you before me. May as well get over it and move on rather than let my blood boil over something that isn't worth being upset over," she had said nonchalantly when Hunter told her. "You like me now, and the present is what should rule someone, not the past."
"That's her," said Hunter. "She wants to be an astronomer, hence the rockets, and well... yeah. I wrote it ages ago, when we were, I dunno, fourteen? But I came up with the melody and rhythm yesterday."
"It's beautiful," she said, smiling.
"You're beautiful," murmured Hunter, and she looked down, biting her lip.
"T-Thank you, Hunter."
He stood up and kissed her, letting his hands drift down to her waist and bringing her closer against his body. He had learnt by now the things that made her breathing rate increase rapidly and her heart beat frantically. They were both new to this, but that didn't mean they weren't enjoying the adrenaline.
After about a minute, Lucky pulled away slowly, breathing heavily. "Dang," she whispered.
"Yeah, sounds about right," whispered Hunter. He kissed her forehead, before pulling away. "Hey, do you wanna go somewhere tonight?"
