I sat up in bed panting, I've been having the same nightmare for the past three days. It was always the same, me and my cousin getting kidnapped by two men and thrown inside separate dark rooms, getting beaten and finally me dying.

Every time I thought of the ending result, it sent shivers down my spine. I hated that nightmare I would always wake up sweating and panting, feeling scared and disoriented . It wasn't a very nice feeling.

I looked at the blue alarm clock on my nightstand and saw the bold red letters that read the numbers 8:40. "Crap" I muttered, dragging myself reluctantly out of bed. My limbs were stiff and heavy. I was so tired.

I was late for school, again. Tripping over piles of clothes, I opened up my closet and grabbed a pair of baggy sweat pants and a t-shirt.

Then I ran to the mirror and threw my hair up into a messy bun of blonde curls. No helping those. My curls were always unruly and didn't like listening to me.

While brushing my teeth I grabbed my phone to text my best friend Amber to see if she was going to pick me up. She picked me up every day, but she would leave me if i was to late.

I spit in the sink and rinsed my mouth, running to my room to quickly put on some make up, so I didn't look like such a hot mess. I put on some foundation and smudged under my blue eyes with eyeliner. With some mascara, and a swipe of lip gloss, I was ready to go.

I looked down at the text Amber had sent me.

"L8r than usual I see, Leah. I'll be there in 5. Be ready, I don't like waiting."

I smiled to myself and put on some socks and tennis shoes. Grabbing an apple, I was out the door in ten minutes. My new record.

Amber lived right down the road so it didn't take long for her to get here. She beeped the horn when she saw me and i waved her off. She got irritated when i was late.

Just as i was walking to the car, My little sister, Summer, came outside. The middle school started later and she was headed to the bus. Her hair and makeup was perfect and, of course, her out fit was sparkly enough to blind me.

She was adorable though. She had dark blonde ringlet curls that fell just past her shoulders and greenish - blue eyes. She was also tall and skinny, with the curves that most thin girls couldn't get. It was a killer combination. She had all the guys crawling after her, which of course, meant I had to beat them up. I mean, she was only 13.

"Hey, baby girl. How are you?" I asked, wrapping her up in a bear hug.

She looked at me with her big eyes, and smiled. "Great! Oh my gosh, there was drama with Sophie right and-" oh gosh. Summer was always getting into drama.

i sighed and cut her off before Amber could blow a pipe. She was beeping the horn over and over. A few neighbors poked their heads out of their doors with sour looks.

I hugged Summer goodbye and headed to Ambers grey Corolla.

"See ya. Love you. Have a good day at school." I shouted over my shoulder as I slid into the passenger seat.

She waved and walked back into the house to wait for the bus.

I got in on the passenger side and was welcomed by the smell of Hollister perfume. Amber always loved the smell of Hollister and would always buy the men's cologne and spray it everywhere. It wasn't that bad now that i was used to it.

She looked over at me, smiled and said, "Hey bae. How's it goin?"

I looked at her smiling and replied, "Okay, I guess. I woke up late."

"Yeah, I noticed." She rolled her eyes and i snickered. She backed quickly out of the driveway.

Amber wasn't really a talker, but hated awkward silences. I turned up the radio. Ungodly Hour drifted from the speakers and She automatically started singing it.

"Don't talk, don't say a thing. Cause your eyes, they tell me more than words. Don't go, don't leave me now!!!" She screeched, a silly grin o her face. She wasn't that bad at singing, when she wasn't kidding and being stupid, but when it came to Am, something was always stupid.

That was one of her favorite bands. I recognized the voice of the leadsinger. It was The Fray.

I studied her for a minute as she twisted in her seat, a sad attempt at dancing. She had shoulder-length, straight, dark brown hair and amber colored eyes She wasn't skinny but she wasn't fat, she was in the middle. It suited her. She was in the middle of tall and short, and loved vintage clothing. She was like my total opposite. Which is why i guess we connected so well.

She had been my friend since 6th grade, and I loved her to death. She did have some family issues which made her more closed off than other people, but she's opening up to me little by little. I came back into the real world and heard her singing,

"And I am short on words, knowing what's occurred. She begins to leave because of me. Her bag is now much heavier, I wish that I could carry her. This is my favorite part. But this is our ungodly hour, ungodly hour, ungodly hour!!!" I laughed and rolled down the window, letting the morning breeze hit my face.

When it ended she sighed, "His voice is amazing. I'm gonna marry him, and make him sing to me."

I laughed, "Okay, have fun with that you weirdo."

"Oh I will, trust me." She said wiggling her eyebrows at me.

"Ewwww, you're so, ahh! I cant even." I said, slapping her playfully and looking away from her. She just laughed, and turned back to the road as another song started.

We pulled up to the high school and I immediately spotted Cole waiting for us and leaning against his car. His headphones were in his ear and he smiled when he saw us, giving us a little wave. He waited for me even though i was late. He was the most awesome boyfriend.

I smiled almost immediately, hopping out of the car to run over to him. He picked me up and swung me around with a chuckle as i buried my face in his neck. I loved how he always smelled like pine trees.

When he put me down and stepped back, he had his big smile on his face, showing off his adorable dimples. He was really handsome. He had sexy, medium blond hair and light green eyes. He was a little bit taller than me and had a beauty mark near his eye. He had pretty, pink lips, and a cute little baby arm.

Before you freak out, let me explain. He has a disease that kept his arm from growing normally. It was what made him, him and I'll always love his little arm. He slung his good arm over my shoulder and kissed my forehead.

I looked back to see if Amber was still there, and she was still by the car, but her boyfriend Austin was standing in front of her talking to her and smiling.

Austin was Amber's boyfriend. And i hated him. He was always clinging to her and stuff.

when I saw Austin about to kiss Amber I glared daggers at his back. He better not touch my baby!

Cole followed my eyes and saw the scene. he shook his head with a sigh and followed mw over there to intervene. He knew not to question me.

I interrupted them by stepping in front of Austin and starting up a random conversation with amber. Austin got the hint and they followed into footstep behind me and Cole.

I ignored my thoughts about what they could be doing behind me. It would only make me mad. Cole walked me to my locker and I really didn't want him to leave, but I knew he had to go so I hugged him closely for about a minute and finally let go.

"I'll catch you later, ok?" He said walking backwards away from me.

"Yeah" I said, and smiled. He winked and turned around to go to class. I watched him go until He turned the corner and turned to open my locker and I get my books. My day was going pretty good so far.
