"BABE!" I yelled as I opened the front door to invite the fabulous Hailey inside my home. "Hey there best friend." Hailey said in a fun, sarcastic way. I locked the front door as Hailey ambled through the corridor that leads into the living room. "Did you bring the chocolate?" I asked. "Of course!" Hailey responded as she showed me the two packs of small snickers. I smiled. 'Ohhhhh, I'm so happy!' I thought. I felt at ease as I sat on my comfortable couch. My finger falls as I click channel 5 on my cable remote. The news is on, discussing about a criminal invading homes in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Where I live. "This man on the video has robbed three homes near the Pulaski Bridge. For Greenpoint residents, be cautious, and remember to lock your doors at all times." spoke the news reporter. "We're 4 blocks from the Pulaski Bridge." I told Hailey. I began to feel frightened. "Are the doors locked?" Hailey asked. "Yeah, I always lock them" I told her. "Then we're fine." She responded with ease. I changed the channel to Netflix, and browsed through the horror movie category. "Wanna watch Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones?" I asked. "Sure." Hailey said while munching on a blue bag of Sun chips.

After about 45 minutes of the movie, I decided to rise from the couch, and walk to the kitchen to get more popcorn. PLOP! I hear a loud noise, that sounds like something dropped coming from my parents room. "Hailey, you heard that?" I asked while walking to her. "Hear what?" She asked me. "Come with me." I told her as I grabbed my bat. "Where are you going?" She asked me with a chuckle. "I heard a noise from my parents room." I told her. "So?" She replied. Does she not notice that there's a criminal on the loose in OUR neighborhood. "Come with me." I told her. "Kylie, your just getting paranoid from the movie, that's all. Some unstable object must've fell." She told me. I didn't believe her. "Fine, then I'll go alone." I told her. With my bat dragging on the floor, I was walking as slow as I can, with my heart pumping, with a strange feeling in my stomach. I'm in front of my parents bedroom door. Eeeeeeek. I opened the bedroom door with my eyes closed. I open my eyes, and nothing. There is nothing but a open window, and a chilly room. I walk to the window and close it. "Are you okay?" Hailey asked. "Yeah. You were right, some unstable object probably did fall. But, it was strange that the window was open." I said. "Your parents probably left it open." Replied Hailey. No, my parents never leave the window open. That's how bugs get in. Before I closed the door, I took a quick glance around the dark room. Nothing. I walk back to the living room to continue watching the movie. Eeeeeek! "Did you hear that?" I asked Hailey. Hailey gulped and said "Yep."
