HELLO ALL,
I would like to believe you missed the story and I updated it very fast.
So, comment lots.
Enjoy reading!
Nandini finally came out of her college, dodging her batchmates and ignoring the troublemakers. She was finally free for a week, after which she'd join her first job. She had not told her family regarding the placement and unexpected promotion too, since she knew it would only be followed by numerous questions which she didn't want to answer.
They wanted her to join the family business, while she wanted to do something on her own. In a tiny corner of her heart, she did not want to associate with the Murthys though she unfortunately found herself linked in unwillingly. She is a topper of her Institute and would certainly not live on her family's name. She wanted to earn things herself.
She sat in the car to drive to her favourite place, when she received a call from her Chacha Ji. She frowned at the unusual occurrence and picked it up. "Hello, Nandini beta, you need to come to Murthy Group now. It's urgent. We have a new addition in the Board of Directors and we have been called for a Board meeting. As you are now in the BOD, your presence is a must as requested. We had been informed of this yesterday only but it somehow slipped out of mine and Bhai's brain. Sorry, beta", he apologised.
She sighed at her extinct holiday plan and spoke "It's ok, Chachaji. You need not say sorry. I'll be there in half an hour. When is the meeting?"
"In one hour", he replied, happy that she didn't deny.
After she cut the call, her thoughts went back to how she 'had' to become a board member. Though she didn't actually meet the requirements of being on the Board as she is supposedly underage, she was nominated by the majority because a woman on the board was compulsory and of course, her Dadi played her cards well. Previously, it had been her Dadi, after which she had to take the place. This would be her first meeting with the Board after her official introduction into the Board.
After 30 minutes, she parked her car and stood at the entrance of the huge building. Murthy group is a well established company of 17 years. It was founded by her dad and Chachu, who had similar take on business as well as self dependency. It was previously named 'ARMAAN', which was changed to Murthy group after he left. They wanted to make technology and comforts reach maximum range of people with the help of online emergency services app. Her Chachu was a visionary of his time. That was his 'armaan'
After her Chachu, nothing remained the same. Neither she, nor her dad, nor the Company. She sighed and walked into the building, head held high, confidence radiating in her stance. She looked like a no nonsense person, with an intimidating aura.
Her Chachaji's PA, Abhimanyu greeted her and led her to the conference room as requested by her. She settled in the designated seat and watched her surroundings. It had been years since she had been here. She had come there with her best friend. A smile touched her lips involuntarily at his thought. There was not much change except for a few things here and there and the sophistication to which she was thankful.
As she continued to look around the room, light murmurs took her attention.
"I heard he's just 25 years old. So young and achieved so much. I wish my son would take life seriously too. All he does is party and hang out with friends", an unknown man spoke, some Mr. Arora, as his nameplate said.
"Which 25 year old would achieve so much in business so fast, Mr. Arora? My son just started business too. People like this CEO are rare and mysterious too. I heard this is his second public appearance. Except for his office and personal staff, nobody knows how he looks like. He even denied an interview to the most famous media house, when they approached him as he won the youngest CEO award this year", another man, probably his friend, exclaimed.
