BEN POV
It's been over a week since I called Sherry and today is her painting exhibit. Ever since I broke up with her I never stopped bugging her. My brother and Gram's words made me realized the biggest mistake I've ever made.
(FLASHBACK – at Gram's house)
"Hi Nonna! (Grandmother)" I kissed her forehead.
"How's my not favourite grandson doing?" Nonna is doing her gardening.
"I'm holding on I guess. Wait... Why am I suddenly not your favourite?" I gave a playful pout that always caught her.
"Explained to me why did you lie to her about your sexuality?!" Nonna pointed her finger.
I suddenly felt nervous like a kid caught red handed.
"I... uhmm... How did you know it Nonna?" I tried to change the topic.
"I know everything about you so unless you want me to dig you a hole beside my flowers I suggest you start talking." Nonna is holding a shovel waiting for my explanations.
"Nonna, will you please sit down and relax. Put the shovel away from me it's like you really want to start digging my grave." I enlightened the mood.
"You better start now or I'll really shove you this instant." Grams serious tone.
"Nonna, I know you really like Sherry for me and I like her just as much. When had an agreement that there will be no commitment just like friends with benefits." I know Grams will have an outburst.
"BENJAMIN CLARK VENOSO!! We didn't raise you to be a first class jerk!!" Grams called my full name and I know she's ready to beat me.
For the first time I heard her with a foul language that almost made me grown two heads.
"Woahh Nonna. Did I just hear you swear?" I can't help but smile.
"Don't you ever try to change the topic!" She ignored it.
"Anyway I felt Sherry wanted something more or level up our relationship but I wasn't ready to have that yet Nonna so I made the lie. It's wrong I know but I can't take back what I've done." I finished and Grams sat beside me.
"You remind me so much of your Nonno (Grandfather) and your Papà. They're both stubborn, afraid of being committed and have the crazy minds just like you. But the difference is they were being honest and they realized the true meaning of commitment." Grams smiled remembering their memories.
"Nonna, I don't know what to do I feel so awful and the guilt inside me is killing me." I confessed.
"Ben, we understand what's Sherry is going through right now. All I could say is if you really think Sherry is worth it, fight for her and face whatever she throws at you. Honesty will set you free." Grams advised and kissed my forehead.
She left to do her gardening again while I'm on my own thoughts.
(END OF FLASHBACK)
"I've got to get my Cara back." I muttered while standing in front of the mirror.
My decision is final I drove at Sherry's art exhibit with a quick stopped at the flower shop. I bought her favourite flower and hope she won't keep avoiding me. Since both Nonna and Eric love Sherry they insisted on going with me. I know Sherry would be glad to see them on her important day.
Soon we arrived at the event just in time when the announcer introduced Sherry up on the crowd. I can't help but admire her she's still as gorgeous as ever from the last time we saw each other.
