Jimin P.O.V

Jungkook turned towards me and took my free hand into his and walked away dragging me along. Of course i became flustered at the touch. We were basically holding hands. HOLDING HANDS.

"j-jungkook slow down," he was walking at a fast pace and it was getting hard to keep up with him dragging me as usually im really fast. Then he finally slowed down and stopped at some point his hand still holding mine.

"sorry hyung. I-I don't know what came over me.."

"it's o-" before i could finish my sentence my phone was rang. I took it out of my pocket and answered it on speaker.

"yes hobi hyung?"

"jimin, taehyung threw up so im driving him Back to campus. I'll explain things later. But will you and jk be able to come back by yourselves?"

I looked at jungkook and he nodded.

"yeah sure no problem hyung,"

"alright let me know if anything happens, and don't worry about tae I'll take him to jin hyung. His soup should do the trick,"

I said bye and hanged up. "jungkook shall i call us a taxi or do you want to walk it although it'll take about 30-40 minutes if we do but i don't mind,"

"well maybe we should walk it. We'll also get fresh air if you want to maybe also grab ice-cream on the way?" he suggested. I couldn't help but feel excited since it sounded like a date..

"sure, let's get going then,"

As we were still holding hands people were giving us a weird stare and of course jungkook also noticed. He then took his hand away from mine, feeling disappointed at the loss of warmth i started walking few steps ahead. His obviously not comfortable holding hand with another man.

Stop getting your hopes up jimin

I finally decided to ask him about the girl, my curiosity exceedingly high.

"so.. Er you don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortab-"

"my ex-girlfriend.." he asnwered as if he read my mind."we were together in middle school.."

"oh.." was all i could say. I wonder why they broke up? What happened?

"ho- why....n-nevermind,"

"its okay hyung you can ask.. i don't feel uncomfortable with you..." he said in a low tone. I felt relieved hearing that.

"what happened between the two of you..?" I asked, my curiosity killing me.

"how about we get the ice cream first and then I'll tell you everything, hm?"

I nodded and after few minutes of comfortable silence we found a super market and bought ice cream for ourselves. Jungkook also bought a pack of banana milk.

AUTHOR P.O.V

After getting the ice-cream they started walking towards the direction of their campus. Jungkook took a deep breath and started his story.

"me and her were friends during the start of middle school everything was normal except for the fact that i started having feelings for her, really strong feelings. It was my first time falling in love... I was too scared to confess. But in our last year she confessed to me and boy was i happy,"

He took a bite from his ice-cream and continued with jimin's full attention on him.

"we become a couple and i thought that was the best thing that ever happened to me then.. The first few weeks were normal except that we were together more. But then she started being controlling like what i should wear, say, do and much more. Started asking for the password in my phone taking my privacy away. If i said no she'd get angry and also at other little things,"

" she became irrational towards my female friends and even some of my close guy friends. Always demanding to give her attention. There were times she accused me of cheating when she was hanging around guys herself. But stupid naive me didn't understand and thought it was a phase in a relationship,"

" when.. When we started um.." jungkook thought for moment,"Becoming i-intimate. She started criticising me and told me i wasn't enough to satisfy her and wasn't anything without her,"

Jungkook took a peek at jimin from the corner of his eyes to see the older's expression unexpectedly it was unreadable. Jungkook really wanted to know what jimin was thinking, unsure if he did that right thing letting jimin know about his past relationship.

However jungkook knew deep down if he were to confess to jimin anytime soon, he had to know about his past.

"when i tried to break up with her she emotionally blackmailed me saying things like she would hurt herself if i were to leave her. I was still dumb and blinded to not understand how toxic our relationship was.. "

"but minha she noticed how everything was between me and jihye. I didn't want to believe it at first but knew it was true when she explained everything. I didn't know how to end my relationship with her. Thankfully Minha then took me to jihye's parents and she helped me explain everything to them,"

"they apologised and they transferred jihye to a different school and also said that they would send her to therapy. Just before she left i broke ties with her properly without giving in to her blackmails,"

"i was traumatised... So scared to fall in love again.. After all that i closed my up my heart. I promised myself i wouldn't let anyone in anytime soon..."

Jungkook turned his head to jimin with loving eyes but the older was looking in the distance not noticing jungkook looking at him."but unfortunately someone somehow found their way into my heart and made me break that promise.. " he chuckled lightly when jimin finally looked at him with wide eyes.

"there's someone you like..?" the older finally spoke in a sad tone that didn't go unnoticed by jungkook making his hopes higher of jimin liking him back.

Jungkook hummed, "yes..its someone special to me someone i respect and admire. Someone who i think might like me back too i hope.." jungkook looked up at the sky lost in thought, thinking if it was the right time to confess or wait for a better time and place.

He came to a conclusion to wait for a better time to confess, he wants to make it special.

" I'm sorry you know going through something like that for a first relationship is rough...i could never imagine being in a toxic relationship," jimin frowned obviously changing the subject not wanting to hear more, feeling like he has no chance with jungkook, still oblivious to hints jungkook gave out.

For the next 15 minutes they had small talks mostly jungkook talking and jimin listening since he secretly loved the youngers voice. They soon reached their campus and walked towards the dorm buildings.

"I'm gonna go over to jin hyung and check up on taehyung, you should get back to the dorm, you wanted to take a shower didn't you?" jimin asked but more as a statement.

Jungkook nodded, "mhm shall i take your bags too?"

"ah you don't hav-"

"it's no trouble i don't mind," jungkook interrupted with a soft smile knowing well that jimin feels like he'll burden jungkook when its nothing like that.

Jimin didn't want to but he hesitantly gave his shopping bags to jungkook remembering how stubborn jungkook was, well still is.

After that they parted ways well at least jungkook started walking away towards their dorm building while jimin watched him walk away..

Did i ever even stand a chance...
