First Day at SFIT

Approximately 1 month later:

Today is the day. The day I show off all my badassery or stupidity to all the SFIT students.

Let's hope I make a decent first impression... but I really needn't worry. It is college, after all. Nobody really gives a damn about who you are or what you do.

After a "healthy" and "nutritious" breakfast at Mickey D's, I drove to the campus on my scooter. I've already been here at a student orientation, but this time, I'll be a actual student! It's a major benefit of being one because we have the option of lugging around 10 lb backpacks. Phew.

"Good morning! By any chance, are you.. Violet Suzuki?" a Latina asked me on the front steps whilst reading off a clipboard.

"Uh, yeah. That's me!"

"Great! I'll be your liaison for today," she said while tucking a pencil behind her ear. "Let's take a walk to your assigned building. Oh, I didn't introduce myself! My name is Aiko Miyazaki, but my friends call me Honey Lemon. You'll see me in the A113 building, where all the science stuff goes on," she introduced. "As from what I see here, you'll be in the same building, too!"

"Sweet. So it's like an open-concept building with the occasional 'cubicle' here and there, right?" I inquired.

"Yep. Here at SFIT, we're encouraged to work in cleared out spaces. For what reason, I'm not sure, but it's probably a good one."

I nodded my head in understanding. Observing the campus, I noticed there were many student-created projects that were actually being put to use. For example, there was a guy who was using rocket-boosters to get himself high enough so he could shear the top of a tree. There was also a girl who was racing around the pathways on a bike with no axles (?), narrowly avoiding passerbys.

"...here we are, Violet. A113!!" Honey Lemon (man, it's gonna take me a while to get used to saying that) gestured to a glass-covered structure with massive solar panels on the sides. There was also a greenhouse in the back-- but I remember that from orientation. Haha.

"Now, we shall head to your workspace, which is room number 108..." she declared. I totally forgot that we had workspaces.. duh.

I was led through a ring of hallways in order to get to my room. But, lucky for me, it was actually a simple layout-- basically, you had the very center "circle" of the building (the lobby/foyer/lunchroom). The outer ring of that "circle" represented the private rooms. Which meant everyone got a window view.

I passed plenty of rooms with students sitting at a desk, drawing blueprints, eating lunch alone, or working on something else. I think I saw Hiro, too!

"Hi Hiro!" Honey Lemon exclaimed with a slight accent. Apparently she knew him already. Cool coincidences.

"Hey, Honey Lemon. Oh, and to Violet, too.. oH!! Vi!! I didn't notice ya!"

I laughed and ruffled his hair. "Laaame excuse, buddy."

He raised an eyebrow at me. "Ha. Ha. Well, welcome to SFIT. Home of the nerdiest nerds. You're a certified nerd now, Vi."

"I guess that's.. an honor?"

"Indeed, my friend. Tadashi is next door," he jerked a finger
to the wall, "You guys should stop by. I think he forgot that today is the first day for new students.

"Got it," I gave him a thumbs-up.

"I take that you guys have met already?" Honey Lemon smiled.

"Yep. I met nerd #1, Hiro, at the competition. Now, nerd #2.."

A/N: wooooooo
i'm still busy af.... :// pls heelp.

okay so i decided to do a Tadashi POV just bc he deserves one :) and it'll help with writer's block, i'm hoping. it starts at the next chapter. interesting factoid: "aiko miyazaki" was Honey Lemon's original name in the Marvel comics.

Tadashi is... perfection personified (i may add that in my story later on, i like the sound of it). he's so amazing. and to think that he is fictional T_T
